last event last saturday, i managed to set times only 1 to 2 seconds slower than the 3 Porsches that were in my class

Keeping it stock. A supercharger would be nice, but I don't want to give up the strut tower brace, and already hitting 135+ on the back straight - I can't imagine 800 HP and running up to 150+ and trying to make the 90 degree turn 11 to the front straight at Gingerman!

This is sort of off the topic...

I can't say what the numbers are or even if there is a correlation, but the number of race tracks (drag, road, and oval) have diminished (≈ in half) over the last 20 years or so. This is also the case for shooting parks (skeet, trap, and rifle) within the same time frame. If that wasn't enough, theme parks, strip malls, indoor theme malls, bowling alleys, ice and roller skating arenas, along with a myriad of theme restaurants have disappeared!

Thank God (and Ford) for small favors, but the Mustang is still with us!
