However, in the front you’ll definitely notice a difference in a street to track camber setting when running on the track.
I was asked a lot by folks what my setting was, when they'd see the car in the garage at race events and the tires were heavily angled....

I’m running -3.3.
I’m running -1.8 in the rear for the track.
So a question from somebody who has never changed alignment for the track: Does this make a huge or significant difference in lateral grip that you can feel while in the turns, at much higher speeds? Or is it a minimal amount but everything counts in small amounts?

As a relative newcomer to track driving, I can't give a definitive answer on the effect of specific setting changes. I went from a 340TW tire 275/295 setup at -2.7/-1.3 to a 200TW tire 295 square at -3.3/-1.8 and it was a major difference in grip. I suspect most of the additional grip was the tire/size change, so I can't speak to the difference from exclusively changing the alignment settings.

Another factor is tire pressure, which affects grip and wear. I've been playing with different pressure settings to keep the wear even and maximize grip, which also is affected by the alignment. All of these are influenced by the weather and track as well. The point being, I have not had an a to b comparison of driving where the only change is the alignment. My goal up to this point has mostly been focused on getting a reasonable setup with even tire wear. The settings I am using are based on extensive research and feedback from places like Trackmustangsonline.com, rather than personal experience.

Maybe someone with extensive track experience can chime in on how big of a change the alignment makes as far as grip and lap times.

Thank you for answering, though. I get it about stickier tires - that seems to overwhelm other changes.

(I also read over at trackmustangsonline.com, including your thread and posts, trying to learn as much as I can)
