2024 race red GT convertible with every package but Recaro seats, including PP, Magnaride, 401a, AVE, NPP. My first sports car, first V8, and I absolutely adore it. Planning to replace with carbon fiber the top hood vent, steering wheel, side skirts, grille nostrils, door handles, chin splitter, and rear diffusers that surround the quad exhaust once the factory pieces start showing some wear. The entire car is ppf including the black grille flat piece and nostrils, the outer flat edge of the hood vent, even the head lights. All else - vert top, wheels, side skirts, back diffusers, brake calipers, chin splitter, tail lights, brake lights, side reflectors, the wind shield glass exterior, have been ceramic coated. All interior vinyl trims and the seats have a ceramic coat, even the touchscreen has a ppf screen protector. To say I've invested in this thing after the fact is an understatement, but the car looks clean and shiny at all times

Well shoot. I tinted the front wind shield 70%, the back windshield 55%, the side windows 25%. I also blacked out the tail lights, brake lights, and side reflectors the darkest smoke shade. The side windows at 25 are fine - with the factory tint they come out to around 17. In the garage the front and back windshields look great, but in day light, i can honestly barely tell when i look at it or even when driving. I will be driving it in darkness at 4am tomorrow morning but don't anticipate that changing my mind. And after leaving my car outside all day in 90 degree heat, yes it's not baking like it was, but still not as cool as I wanted it or as dark as I thought it would be. On top of that, someone keyed my car from wheel well to wheel well last weekend before i left on a trip for a week. The entire car has ppf, but it looks like it may have penetrated thru to the paint near the trunk. He even keyed thru the 5.0 decal. The shop tried the heat gun but it was too deep ac scratch to mage a difference. They also scratched my left A frame installing the tint. The replaced is 250 from the dealership parts department and so be deducted from my final bill. My insurance rate is awesome, only 130 a month, so I'm seeing what the body shop can do to hook it up so i don't have to involve insurance. I know they aren't supposed to raise your rates for no fault comprehensive claims, but i don't want to mess around and find out. I even had the piano black flat piece and hood vent ppf as well for extra cost and to clean easy and protect from rock chips, anything not ppf like calipers, wheels, vert top, are all ceramic coated. I'm devastated to say the least. To remove half the car ppf and replace it is 2600 but I'm hoping if i also decide to redo all windows to a darker shade they will knock down the price. I'm definitely getting a dashcam with sentry mode so i have a chance to catch the thug if it happens again. But I'm terrified if it penetrated thru the ppf and sliced the paint, bc i always hear the factory paint color and clear coat can never be duplicated after the fact and then I'll have to involve insurance. I did file bc a police report but there's nothing they can do since no cameras..
So my questions...

the tint and ppf used is Kavaca supposedly the best on the market but only 8-9mm, should I be going for a brand that makes thicker ppf like 12 mm so next time a key won't slice thru it?
What is the best dash cam with sentry mode?
Are there any products on the market that can smooth out or hide scratches made on any of the interior black plastic pieces like the A-frame or plastic on the bottom inside of the door or bottom plastic near the side trim that says MUSTANG when you open the door?
What tint shade should i do this go around instead? I was going to redo the back wind shield to 25 to match the sides and blacked out lights, but am thinking of going darker at 15% all around. Should i lower the windshield to 55% or since i can b

arely tell the back at 55% should I be going 35% on the front and 25% on the back to match the side windows or 15% if i decide to go even darker on the side windows ? And pictures the front windshield actually looks much darker than it is in real life and especially when driving I can tell almost no difference and I still can feel heat coming off the windshield and my steering wheel was still hot as hell when I got in it after leaving it in 90° weather all day which was the main point I was trying to solve getting all of this tinted.

Any help is greatly appreciated. First pics are in the shop, second pics outside, and whatva noticeable difference. I'm already so mad at myself for picking the wrong tint shade, so please help me do better this time. With the keyed damage that i have to fix especially if the ppf didn't save the paint, i can't afford to di this a 3rd time. the last 3 photos are some of the keyed damage. I'm also taking to the building manager and owner this week about being allowed to break my lease early without penalty to move some place else with a garage since I'm afraid it'll happen again once i get everything fixed. That's on me for not making sure there were available garages but I had initially planned to move back to Las Vegas by now so this was only supposed to be a short few months stay. I'm also considering a car cover but that would be very hard to take on and off since this is my daily driver and i just had my shoulder labrum reatached with the next shoulder up next in 6 weeks. . But I also have issues with sprinklers in my assigned parking spot because I found out the hard way that hard water spots are permanent on ppf and ceramic coat. Otherwise it would have been parked there and this thug probably wouldn't have done what he did. Does anyone have any ideas on what shade of tint I should go with this time or any other ideas regarding fixing the keyed areas and a recommendation a dash cam and if there is any product on the market fit water spots removal so i don't have to strip the entire car.... although i may take this oppor to add a double white or black racing stripe this time too since it all has to come off anyway...please say something and help me out because I'm so stressed out and depressed to the max over this right now. Thank you for reading my novel of issues and problems.

Don't waste your time, file an insurance claim. Unless you've got a stupid high deductible. Looks like it's completely through the ppf. Just to paint one panel is probably $600. That's $1,800 plus $2,600 to replace ppf.

What tint would you go with this time? As I said 70% in the front was a waste and I can barely notice a difference with 55% on rear wind shield too. If I keep my side at 25% I will match the back wind shield to 25%. If i redo the sides to 15% I will match the back to 15% as well. What is a good % on the front? 55% this time, or go with the 35%? I want it to look good and block the heat the way the 25% has been on the sides, i do not want to have to continue using a sun screen on the wind shield. I'm leaning toward 35% based on what I've seen with the 70 front and 55 rear, but would night driving be impaired? What are yours or anyone thoughts on this?

I went no tint on the front window (not allowed in Canada)
30% tint on the side passenger and driver
15% tint on the rear sides
15% tint on the rear window

You could probably go 35% as long as you have full headlights and not tint them. I can see fine with 50% and 20% tinted headlights. Might be a little tough with 35% and tinted headlights

The rest of my windows on both are 20%

The straight white is through your paint, hard to say on the others. Won't know until you peel it back

Thank you guys for your suggestions. I will definitely be changing the front windshield to either 35 or 55 and the back windshield will be either 25 to match the side windows unless I change those to 15 then they will be 15. As far as having to repaint the entire side of the car, will it ever look the same as OEM factory paint or am I going to be relegated to sell the car and start over?

Unless you're going to Earl Scheib's, you won't even know it was repainted. Your car hasn't had time to fade yet

That spoiler looks FANTASTIC. I wish more than anything my PP vert didn't come with the spoiler delete. I'm also having some buyers remorse because now that I have all this power I want to take it to the track, and that is apparently very hard to do here without installing a roll bar. The convertible already weighs more and I can't imagine adding any more weight and having to drill into the car. I also wonder how much aerodynamics and Agility I gave up by not getting the hard top so I think I'm going to go to a dealership and test drive a hard top to either be at peace or make a trade. When you are in sport or track mode, and you put your foot on the brake, does the exhaust pop and the car "jerk" for lack of a better word as it slows down? I've never owned a car such as this so I'm not sure if that is normal or if there is a transmission issue I need to take in for the dealer for a reset

How is your night time visibility with 50% versus 35%? Especially in areas with no lighting such as in the middle of nowhere on a highway or up a mountain? I know either is fine in the suburbs but how do you feel about one versus the other if you were in a pitch black area? Also comma do you notice A cooling difference in the car When you get in between the 50 versus the 35%

Mustang is fine although I did notice a pretty big difference going from no tint to 50% with those headlights tinted. 35% is probably too much for me.

F-150 is my day to day vehicle, driven plenty of times at night, zero problems seeing.

35% really blocks the heat, 50% knocks it down some, but my aluminum shift knob is still plenty warm if it sits in the hot sun during the day at 85 degrees +
