I've known several cops, one of which is a close friend.

I also know how to look up the law in Texas, do you need me to cite the actual laws for you? Or can you google that yourself to prove your story is BS. The cop didn't collect fines from you. Simple as that. A judge did.

States have different laws and we dont know the infraction. If you aren't a LAO in the state this happened in, I wouldn't be calling people liars. Hes European and could be talking about a meter maid for all we know. Ease up partner.

State Troopers do collect fines. I had to pay cash and he issued me a paper ticket as a receipt in 2014. I don't live in the US, so that's how they deal with foreigners.

Another fine that I received from a normal police officer was also paid cash. I had to go to the station and give it to their administration before I could leave.

If you could explain the circumstance it would help clear things up.

Texas loves to pull over out of state drivers. My wife was going driving through texas with some friends 15 years ago. They were pulled over because a vehicle allegedly saw them throw a cigarette but out the window and called the police. They searched the car top to bottom and actually arrested my wife and her friend. They took then to some double wide trailer makeshift jail they had set up, and told them they could pay $500 dollars each or they could sit in jail over the weekend until they could see a judge. Obviously they paid the $500 each and got the hell out of there. The cops explanation was because they were from out of state they could not make them pay a fine or show up to court if they left with just a citation. Mind you there was no proof of anything lol.

If this really happened this way, you definitely should sue them for civil rights violations! Otherwise they will keep doin this shite to good people! Dammit this infuriates me to no end!! Do not let that go. Dam i just saw/read it happened 15 years ago. Well im sorry this happened to you. My thoughts still stand for future issues. ADHD brain. Happy new year anyway!!

I think it's bullshit with all the sober people being pulled over for dui. They DO have quotas on that and goals on that, I know for a fact. I know a Texas DPS officer and he refuses to harrass people but if it looks like a genuine dui, he will pull them over.

It's so true, they hate us cuz they ain't us. I mean they can join us, but hate on us? Yeah gon' call that BS out.

We all have that one friend who has all the BS stories, or likes to make up stories to fit in. I get it.

I'm all for calling out bad police. But shitting on the Texas State Troopers just because? Yeah, no. Those guys take their job serious and take on some seriously dangerous dudes. Are they tough? Yeah, but I've been pulled over by them a few times and I'm just respectful and it's normally a verbal warning. Most of them are car guys anyways, so if you go respectful, they'll generally return it.

But yeah, trying to say state troopers collect fines on the spot, bruh there are troopers all around, I'll go find one and ask him on video, to stop this bs propaganda. LOL

Yeah, that went out in... what, late 70's / early 80's? not long after the drivers license compact. As I understand, out of staters --used to-- have to go to a magistrate or some lower judicial official and post a surety bond of sorts. My old man got pulled over on the PA Turnpike in this scenario, we were in Virginia or MD at the time. They were talking about it when we got to Pittsburgh, but I was really young, maybe first grade.

That was way too costly for the 'home' state, now you get a summons on the spot unless you're in VA doing 21+ over or 86+ then you can go to jail.

That is not hyperbole. I had a close friend get nailed in Fairfax county for 95mph. He was going to plead guilty in court but the judge strongly suggested to him to get counsel, and set a hearing date for later, as the commonwealths attorney was asking for 2 weeks in jail and a full 2500 fine plus court costs, about $350. So he got a lawyer, and got a sweetheart deal.
administrative license suspension for 2 weeks + $3k fine + administrative probation for a year.
no tickets within a year, record wiped clean.

Lawyer cost about 1500-ish. This was a few years back.

Permitting a "reckless driving" charge for 80 mph when there is a posted speed limit of 70 mph is insane.
