as soon as I entered Texas got pulled over by State Troopers twice for no reason within an hour and got warnings saying I changed lanes without using turn signal

Americans generally find this strange, but our cops, and Traffic cops when they were thing, need no reason to stop you when driving.
We did vehicle safety checks on the roadside, pulling over dozens of drivers for warrant of fitness, licence, registration, etc, etc.
There was a difference initially for drunk driving, but it was easy to find good cause. Weaving in a lane was the usual one.
Then they removed that too, and we got got drink/drive checkpoints.
