My car has the base 300A stereo, it says there are six speakers. I can see the two in the rear deck, and am guessing the other four are in the doors, two per side. Assuming that this is correct, what sizes are these door speakers? I've had good lunk in past Mustangs with improving sound quality drastically by upgrading the existing speakers, and would like to try that with this one. I've always been partial to Kickers, they produce gound sound at a reasonable price, but am open to other speaker suggestions. Sound is more imprtant that money at this point, but please, no suggestions about subwoofers and amps etc, just want some better speakers to plug and play.
Thanks.

It should be the same 6.5" speakers they have been using since 2015 on the Stangs. My PTS access doesn't allow me to get into the parts catalog to get the P/N to verify. I know you don't want to hear about an amp, but the base system is fully powered by the ACM which doesn't pump out a lot of juice. If you decide to take this route, I would replace the speakers with something that requires very low wattage.

Thank you. I can start looking at speakers now, for efficient ones at low wattage. I didn't know what size S550's were, so could not make the connection. I'm guessing these are all round speakers? On my '12 and 14, the door and rear deck speakers were all 4x6 ovals.
If there was a small woofer and amp that I could literally plug in and run, I'd do it. I am not disassembling anything other than pulling door panels, or tapping into the wiring. All the stuff I've read about adding amps and woofers would take an EE to understand.

That schematic shows two door woofers and two pillar tweeters, I think I have two door speakers and nothing in the pillars.

Some googling of the very limited amount of info that is out there shows that the door speakers are woofers only, not 2 or 3 way speakers, and the uppers, regardless of location, are only tweeters.

Yea, there is very limited info on the 2024's out there. Crutchfield hasn't added the S650 to the database yet. I think I remember you mentioning that you work at a dealer? The parts counter should be able to get you the part numbers for your speakers and compare them to the previous year. If they are the same PN, then it would be 1" tweeters and 6.5" or 6.75" for the door and rear decklid.

I did something similar in my truck to what you want to do. I would recommend you add some bass-blockers to the tweeters. Based on the diagram above, the signal the ACM sends to the front tweeters and the door speakers is the same.

I’ve posted this before so excuse me for doing it again.

The speakers already in the car perform really well in my opinion. The head unit is the issue.
I got BOOM from the app store and tested music from my iphone through BOOM to the stock speakers and they then provide excellent bass and improved a lot. Try it yourself.
I just think you may waste money on speakers you could use for a better head unit.
Just my own thoughts.
