But there are two buttons for fan speed. One has a little fan icon, the other is the AUTO button. You can kind of see it here:

The AUTO button has three dashes. Three dashes is the fastest speed. If you press auto again, it goes down to two dashes, and if you press auto again, it goes down to one, the slowest speed of the three (only three using AUTO).

The fan button is to the left, and has more adjustment.

I am just talking about the auto button, not the fan button.

OK. I just went and started my car to test and see what is going on. My car indicated the temp was 80˚. I backed the cart out of the garage and the A/C was set to 66˚. The fan icon had one light lit and the Auto icon had 3 lights lit. I told Alexa to raise the temp to 72˚ and no lights changed. I waited a minute and I could hear the fan speed drop. It was easily discernible. In a short time the fan speed dropped even more but I could still hear it. Less than a minute later I could barely hear the fan speed over the sound of the exhaust. At this point I haven't touched anything only giving Alexa commands and the fans are turning very quietly and all the lights remain the same. I then told Alexa to raise the temp to 74˚and now the fan speed is so slow you have to concentrate to hear it at all. All the lights are still lit. I then touched the Auto icon and one light went out and the fan speed increased. I touched it again and a second light went out and the fan speed slowed. So now the temp is set to 74˚, the Auto icon is lit and the fan speed is faster than when all three lights were lit and the cabin was cooled down. I touched the fan Auto icon again and all 3 lights were lit and the fan speed slowed until it was almost imperceptible. I then touched the fan icon and a menu for choosing fan speed popped up. It was a blank display with some dots. I touched the display about halfway and the fan speed was very fast and loud. To make a very long saga short. One light under the fan icon, three lights under the Auto icon and set the temp. It's that simple. If the fans never slow down then raise the temp in small amounts until they do. As I said the other day you must be patient. Especially in Georgia! If you expect the cabin temp to be 67˚ in Georgia in the summer time it is going to take a while, or raise the temp. As a last resort move north. :facepalm:  Where Auto works great! Good luck! Glenn

I don't know if it was mentioned before, if you leave the temp on LO and use auto the fan stays on high.

If you set the temp up one notch to 60 instead of LO the fan speed will decrease when the car cools off.

If you set the temp up one notch to 60 instead of LO the fan speed will decrease when the car cools off.
Good to know! Unless the weather (humidity) is causing my climate control consternation I only change the temp! Summer or Winter I use the A/C. It is just so easy with Alexa. I don't even turn it off when the top is down. Glenn

Ok, Ok, ok.

1st, I noticed my wife's Explorer ST the fan cooled down.

2nd, while driving my Dark Horse, I adjusted the temperature up, and the fan slowed down. Then I noticed when driving off to do 5:00 a.m. cardio this morning, that my fan speed was lower, because the temperature outside at that early morning was not much above the setting inside the car.

SO - it does work. I just have mine set at 69, because I am hot natured, when it is ridiculously hot and humid here recently, so the fan speed stays on high a lot. Normally it is hot outside when I am driving.

It is working properly.

Glad you got that figured out. Now the hard part is every day you have to determine what temp to set it at so the fans slow down enough for you to enjoy your ride! Happy hunting!

You are not alone. Many years ago, in a life far, far away, I worked. I tried sharing the drive with a co-worker who couldn't figure it out. He would blast the temperature and fans, each on the highest setting. When it got too hot or cold in the car, he would shut the heat or air completely off. I tried explaining what he should do, but to no avail. After a couple of weeks, I told him I couldn't drive with him anymore. Never drive shared again. . Glenn

It doesn't make sense that AUTO is supposed to do whatever is needed, but yet still has 3 apparent speed settings. I just bought a 2025 GT and there is no difference in fan speed or anything else that I can tell between the high and medium setting. If I tap it again and put it on low then the fan slows down to a low speed. Can anyone else verify if I SHOULD be seeing a difference with the high and medium settings or of both of those are just the same and it is what it is?

Now I am in Phoenix Arizona and it's DAMN hot right now, but still doesn't make much sense to me that the speed settings would have NO effect until you set it on low? I get that it should maintain for the temperature but then again..why the settings if that is how it works? If someone can confirm I would appreciate it. Want to know if I need to take her into the dealership to have the AC looked at or not. Here in AZ, the AC is NO JOKE! :)

After the climate controls in my wife's car, the Mustang is excellent. Set it on auto, then you can make minor adjustments like fan speed, temp, seats, just on the screen, no menus.
It also maintains temp better than any other car I've had.

If you live in Arizona drive to North Dakota and by the time you get there the interior of your car will be cool enough for you to notice the fan changing speed. :like: Seriously, the fan speed doesn't change speed unless the air circulating inside the cabin has cooled sufficiently. The same is true for heat. The fans will not slow down until the interior has heated sufficiently. The fan speed is directly affected by the temp of the air in the cabin. As I suggested in an earlier post if you move north this isn't an issue. Good luck! Glenn

I'll tell what's excellent. My 2022 F-150 has these two rounds things you can turn to whatever fan speed and temperature you want. Extremely easy to put your hand on out of the corner of your eye while driving. They are very similar to the round thing the s650 has for volume adjustment.

The best thing for me IMO is that it's an American V8.

However, the infotainment screen sucks. If climate controls are tied to it at least make the screen useable and not a laggy messy.

Yes, it does work really well. My only issue/question is the difference between the high and medium setting on the AUTO function. Not sure if I have a problem or not.

I hear you. But why is there even a speed setting to change if that's. the case? When Auto is on "low" the fans definitely slow and blow a lot less. Just doesn't make sense to me. lol. In any case, the air works really well and even here in Phoenix, within a few minutes of driving, the cabin is fairly cool. Comfortable at least! Thanks again!
