Smallest Dash Cam?

That Magellan unit is very interesting. Was not aware of it until now.
I ordered the Viofo A329S initially, which is similar to what I have in my Ram, but its way to large for the Mustang windshield.
So I just ordered this one instead. Supposed to be their smallest 4K unit Viofo makes. Should be here next week.

Almost ordered the FitcamX, but way too many reports of crap video quality.

If people are still interested, when I get home I can try to take some pictures of the install for my son's camera in the '25 GT. It's a BlackVue 970X plus (box). The processors are in the box unit that I have strapped to the rail below the glove box (out of sight, out of line of sunlight so it runs much cooler). The front and rear cameras are about as small as you can get. The only issue is that the unit has been discontinued for the new "Elite" series, so you have to find one.

Upside to a camera like the 970 is that the app allows you flexibility for the power mode. When hard wired, the system can tell when ignition is on or off, even though there is also constant power. The app can put the cameras into park mode until the voltage drops (like using Mustang's accessory port or the USB by the mirror), or it can turn the camera off when ignition shuts off to save battery. There are also battery units to extend the park mode without draining your vehicle battery, but those cost about as much as the camera itself.

I realize this post is from a few month ago, but why can you not power it from the Mirror USB port? I have a Vifo A229 and use the Mirror USB port without issue

I second the fitcamx. I have one in the car and my truck. Easily install and looks oem! Can’t even tell it’s there.

Were you able to power this from the usb behind the mirror? ThanksI have that one, works well I wish I could change the start up audio from talking to just a beep. To get around that I just turned the volume all the way down, the blue status light is hard to see in day light. I had a larger one and I hated the fact I could see it next to the mirror. So I found this one, it’s been problem free for about 8 months. Hope that helps in your decision making!

Shortly after getting my Mustang I purchased what I believed was the smallest camera that would fit behind my mirror, and was USB powered. (I have a convertible so no rear camera) It was barely visible from the drivers seat. Then, one afternoon walking to my car from a store, a guy was looking into the car through the windshield. As I walked up to him, he asked me what dash cam I had. We talked a bit. That's when I first noticed how "visible and obvious" my small / little dash cam was from the outside ...... (thief magnet?) I immediately ordered the FitcamX. One other issue - when you power the dash cam with the USB port behind the mirror, the dash cam does not power off with the car - the port powers on for an hour or so, unless you change the duration in Forscan. The FitcamX powers from the rain sensor, and turns on / off immediately with the ignition. FWIW

Sorry for not updating this thread. Yes, its installed and working great.
I did not hook it up to a constant 12v for parking mode (although it has that feature available), just with a shorty right-angle USB-A to USB-C cable from the mirror so that it works when we're driving.
Camera works just fine from that, no extra wiring needed. Here are a few pics. Sorry for the darkness of the photos and dust, she is sleeping for the winter still. First pic is from driver's seat, second from passenger, and third is a closeup. Its hidden about 60% from driver's view (my camera angle is a bit lower than my head), just enough so that I can see the LEDs if its working or not when we start the vehicle.
