Recently the shifter in my ‘25 Shelby had to be replaced. Tech was unable to remove the shifter knob. Called Shelby and they told him they had used red loctite. He covered it with a protective material and had to heat it to break it loose. But, it left it looking dirty. They contacted Shelby about a new one. Shelby said that since it’s an “exclusive” item, they require a picture of the car, picture of the CSM on dash and a picture of the vin on the car where drivers door closes. Btw, all other Shelby from other aftermarket suppliers have a smaller thread size.

Yep- I had a 67 Shelby GT500 prior to my current car and there were some items I wanted to get through Shelby/Tony Branda that required the same thing .....

I have to ask this question. Why did you let a car like that go?

Red loctite... idiots!

Was it the entire shifter that was replaced?
Idiots says it all! Below is what I had to say about this when the OP mentioned this is a previous thread.

How did you get it off? Pondering the following..... The fact that Shelby or a supplier did that is troubling to say the least. Shame on the guilty party! Red loctite has no place on a shifter especially the shifter ball!
