Not sure what it up but when I switch to SiriusXM, I get no sound at all. I'm on the preview station.
At first I got a message no satellite found, and then got can't connect right now, try again later.
I did a reset under the general settings section, and also did the reset by holding down two buttons on the steering wheel.
I did a lot of reading and seems to be a common problem.
Do I need to bring it to dealer and have them update something?
Is there something else to try, before dealer trip?

+1. Yes call Sirius first. This past week I've noticed a few brief interruptions. I'm streaming through Android however, so my connectivity is cellular not satellite. Our Mustang's Sync4 gets all of their extended stations. If you have an older vehicle you have to use the app to get all of their stations. The two interruptions i had were in well served locations and cellular signal was 3 to 5 bars. They were brief 10 to 15 seconds.

I suggest you login and make sure the radio in your Mustang is correctly registered on your account. I logged in for the first time after about 8 years and had four radios registered. I cleaned everything up, and re-hardened my privacy settings.

I don't think that anything with your turkey incident / repair would affect reception.

Good luck.

As far as the turkey incident......They pulled the entire dash....could of did something that messed it up like a pinched wire or who knows.

I checked the antenna (shark fin) and all the wiring is plugged in there....the headliner on the s650's use magnets to hold it up....pretty easy to peek.
I'm thinking maybe in the dash somewhere.

Well, I haven't gotten to far as to figuring out what's up with the siriusxm not working. Body shop says it's probably an update, dealer says body shop probably messed something up.....
not really happy at this point.
What to do next? Still have full warranty on the car........

In the dash, supporting all infotainment, is an Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM). On the backside of the APIM are several physical ports, one of which connects the shark fin antenna to the receiver (in the APIM).

In several previous threads, body shops have left connectors loose or disconnected inside doors. If they removed the dash, I'd think odds are good there's a connector issue there.

I feel if it were a software issue, that'd be a very specific problem, reported by others as well.

Edit,

Software is easy enough to check. A dealer could hock up, then use Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (FDRS) to check all modules and their connectivity. It'd take only moments. It won't necessarily confirm a connector fault, but they should at least be able to show the APIM is working and has the latest software. This could encourage the body shop to go back into the dash.

It depends on the dealer. One understanding and with time will have someone connect and check quickly. Others, they might charge you a diagnostic fee.

Thanks for the reply! Do you happen to know where this module is located in my car? I tried searching but came up with no definitive answer. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and just need a starting point.

These videos give a good rundown of what is involved, where the APIM is.

By minute 4 in this first video, they are at the APIM. You'll see the connectors of interest.

This second video is something of a condensed version.

TBH though, you're dealing with a car under warranty, warrantied body work from an accident, insurance, etc. I would not attempt or touch. I appreciate it's a PITA: you're in-between the shop and the dealer. But if you do anything, it gives any of them an oppourtunity to wash their hands of it.

Initial thoughts, you could go about it two ways.

In the first, you go to Ford, pay a diagnostic fee, have them confirm the status of the APIM and services, then take that to the body shop. Maybe any insurer can reimburse you for money and time. Maybe the insurer would pay to have Ford fix? IDK.

In the second, you attempt to reason with the body shop the service was working before and should be working after repairs. You've done the initial checks with Sirius, no one in the 7G forum is complaining of a similar issue, there are no open recalls or TSBs and you need them to double-check.

Isn't the antenna plugged into a module in the trunk that feeds the radio?

Seems to me that when they put the dash back together they forgot a plug
