Interesting.....the reply I got when I asked was " Ford do not email tracking details to customers. Just keep in touch with your dealer"!!!

My car has arrived at the dealer today. A few diversions on the way because of floods and blocked roads! Collect later this week!
Congratulations. Some decent weather forecast from Thursday onwards, too!

Anyone who wants a remote key for for the S650 that features all five buttons (including remote start and panic), I can confirm item 1005007277799565, sub-item '5-Buttons A', on AliExpress is the one to go for. Mine arrived today, programmed fine to the car, and the all buttons work as expected. Just need to find out now how to enable Remote Rev with Forscan.

Thoughts on S550 v S650.

Having driven them back to back on Friday when I picked up my new one .....

Steering - smaller wheel and probably slightly heavier in 'Normal' compared to S550. Steering turn in and response is certainly better than before. Feel about the same.

The car is a lot quieter in quiet mode and there is a better feeling of isolation from outside as a GT should be.

New dash much better feel and quality although the driver display is smaller than before and the speed readout has an odd orange glow to it just around the number displayed - odd. No gear display on the auto now but not really a big deal.

Seats feel much better quality leather / Sensico.

Lane assist is very easy to turn off with two button presses. Speed warning likewise, but only before setting off. Driver alert system seems to revert to 'on' as well, may need to attack that with Forscan! Favourites button is a great idea but far too few possible options for it.

Ride quality is slightly more jittery although I do need to reduce the tyre pressures a bit. The plus is that damping is more controlled too.

Gearbox is much improved (A10) - far smoother plus much quicker to respond.

Stop start works OK, certainly no big deal.

Sub upgraded today (as I had in my S550) and sound system is effectively identical.

Congrats @Gregs24 . Looks like Friday was an auspicious day as I also collected mine (less of a wait for me at only 5 months or so from trying to order to collecting, but felt plenty long enough).

Can you give me a tip on how to disable the speed limit warning using a double button press (like the lane keep)? The system bongs at even 1 mph over (as per regulations) but it's REALLY LOUD when the roof is down, which could get irritating. Turning it off via the touch screen appears to me to be more dangerous than driving at 71 mph.

My wife and I stayed at a hotel on the way home yesterday and it looked so good parked outside. Really loving it so far.

Press and hold the speed limiter button, but ONLY when not moving, It pops up on the display and hold until it says off. It is the bottom left button on the left side

The glow is the secondary dash colour i think, it's usually just below the speed / rpm to give it more definition and like a blur that it's just been there.

I've kinda got used to the speed limit warning thing, it only beeps when you're a little over for a little while. If you're more than 5 over what it thinks is the limit (mine frequently gets the limit wrong when turning left / right at a cross roads and the limit changes straight on)

It did save me yesterday when they removed a speed limit change without warning (used to go from 40 to national for 1/2mile, it's now 40 all the way) and there was a speed camera van there on the first day of the surprise new limit!
Google maps alerted me to the van and where it was placed was in the middle of the usual morning queue doing 5mph.

I'm sure they caught many people speeding that morning ...

I think from what gregs was saying you have to disable it whilst you're not moving.

I'm only taking the 'stang out on warm / dryish days at the moment and despite this i am feeling the torsen kicking in out of junctions even at low throttle which suggests it might be set a bit tight.

Also i now advise people to use wet / slippery mode until tyres are at least warmed up.

On the way home yesterday (dry 6c) i'd been stuck behind really slow traffic for a while (doing constant 35 in 60, 40, 30, and 20 zones) so my tyres were cold but engine was warmed up ..

When the queue all turned the other way at a junction I was moderately pulling away in 2nd gear at about 1/3rd throttle, got to 40mph and gave it 1/2 throttle and to my surprise in a straight line it lit up the rears (normal mode so tc/sc was ON) and briefly attempted to pull itself into the verge.
Unless there was a fuel spill on the road (it was outside a petrol station it lit up) it was a little odd for not even pushing it that hard and all the safetys were on.

I do have the 'moment' on dash cam, less dramatic than it felt!

48 hours in and I've found my first warranty issue. The ISOFIX points seem to be misaligned with the bars on one side of the rear bench, so I can't attach the child seat. Annoyingly, it's the nearside that's out of alignment so I had to squeeze the car seat behind me. Managed it though (when there's a will, there's a way) and my 18 month old giggled when I turned over the engine and dropped the roof.

Fortunately, it's winter so I won't be going anywhere much with her for a while. I'm hoping the dealer can just remove the rear bench and refit it properly.

---

WRT traction on the Pirellis, I'm in the gentle gentle stage right now as I'm still at less than 200 miles in, but pulling out of grubby junctions even gently is audibly resulting in scrabble from the rear. We'll see how they do when everything's run in but once they are worn, I'll certainly be fitting Michelin Pilot 5 tyres to it. I fitted Pilot 4's to my XK (in place of Dunlops) and they transformed it.

Up until the snow happened (a couple of weeks ago) i hadn't really felt the diff do much. But now it seems any tight turn out of a junction with a little bit of power and it's scrabbling away doing something. It's more noticeable from cold start and gets better with a bit of heat in them.
I guess i'm to used to german cars which will cut power before wheel spin occurs...
I'm assuming in wet / slippery mode that the slip % on traction control is reduced along with less throttle response.

Hopefully michelin will roll out the S5 to more sizes (those that are covered be the 4S) but they seem to be really slow at it.

I was really happy with the Continental Sport Contact 7's on my S550. Much better than the Michelin PS4S that it came with. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
