If the present fix is not working and Ford is coming out with a new one in few months gives me new thoughts. There must be another issue causing water intrusion from a different area. The way they slopped black crap in areas should have stopped water from a hurrican.

It seems to be that different dealers are giving different information. This has been the case for months. Some were just doing an inspection, some were doing an inspection and water test.

I have yet to see an official Ford or dealer memo saying the fix needs to be revised. Until otherwise im going to treat this as more bad info coming from dealers. This just reinforces why I haven't had it done. These morons dont know WTF they're doing.

Lol the more things change, the more they stay the same. The TSB for my s197 covers all possible leaks including but not limited to the cowl, cowl grommets, door weatherstripping, and seam sealer. But at least back then you could save the bcm by removing the cowl drains.

I also remember my air bag recall taking years. At one point they were offering to send techs to your residence but then they reneged on that one. In fact I still have the fb convo from eight years ago which also documents my paranoid and severe mental problems being a chronic issue :)

Please dont hijack the thread with S197 stuff. Its irrelevant and derails the discussion.

I'm not; you have to admit they're doing the same stuff they've always done. Water leaks, bcm showers, long delays or cancelations on recalls, etc. It's like the Who said, "meet the new Mustang; same as the old Mustang." Wheel hop, beancounter subpar manual transmissions etc. Sixty years of mediocrity but I still like the cars.

You most certianly are. This thread wasnt started to be a comparison to old problems no one here cares about. It was to share new information on an existing recall and its ongoing changes.

Start your own thread. Preferably on the S197 forum.

But it's a bad joke I mean I'm fighting intrusion on mine and it's like, work went so well so it's time to wave the white flag and buy a new one. Oops it has water intrusion :( Meet the new boss same as the old boss.

I haven’t had it done because the thought of them just slathering on rubber sealant isn’t okay with me on a brand new car.

Ford Mustang Recall ! Are You Kidding Me, Ford?

I had to laugh when he said ppl expect quality and reliability, and that safety is non-negotiable. Eh I would buy a Honda, Toyota or Mazda if longevity on minimum maintenance and repair were my priority. I just want a fun car with a nice aftermarket and a cult following. As I am very fond of saying "you can't turn a hor into a housewife."
