RTR leds - can these be painted?

can i paint these leds ? any recommendations on how or what to do?

When I visited the RTR lab, I asked about the green lights Vaughn has on his car and I was told they paint them with a translucent paint. Not sure what paint they use but what came to my mind is the Tamiya paint on RC car bodies like this. Maybe they will tell you what paint they use if you send them an email or call.
