So bought the RTR Hood Vent kit from CJ Pony Parts. Arrived fast, quality is good etc. etc.
After some initial issues getting it installed (due to parts, not quality) here are the results.
The RTR video says you need the following....
9mm socket required
T20 torx socket required <---- see below
Mmmmmm, the 9mm was accurate but the T20? Not so much unless Canada makes different T20 Torx sockets (shown below). UPDATE: You need an Allen Key / Socket / Wrench to make these work if they look like the head below.
Long story short, one of the screw/bolts fell out of the speed clip and into my engine comparetment as I was trying to tighten it with the T20. I could hear it hitting the tray on the bottom. I have zero plans to take the bottom of the car down any time soon so now am looking around to replace the one screw/bolt thingy and then go to Home Depot and find a socket that will actually fit these.
The speed clips I received also don't look anything like the speed clips on the RTR video; they look like a crushed version of them. I see that the bags in the RTR video (also shown below) have part numbers on them so I'm gonna see if I can hunt down replacements that way.
I have reinstalled the factory vent in the mean time.
