That's crazy. You think it has to do with China since it comes from China? Maybe costums want to charge somebody 100% since the tarrif war.

Mine arrived last week in Miami and will be loaded on the ship coming Thursday. Will receive it next Tuesday.

last Sunday i did my first ever autocross event. SCCA AZ Solo. due to the tires, i was in Super Street Prepared with a Corvette Z06, Porsche 911 GT3RS, and Porsche Cayman GT4. i ended up only a couple seconds slower than the GT4 and even less time slower than the GT3RS. the accelerometer says i pulled a max of 1.16g lateral, 0.88g braking, and 0.72g accelerating during the whole event
I am reading your entire thread but just got to this post.

I have never autocrossed, but I took my Dark Horse to an HPDE track day at Road Atlanta, three days after delivery, two weeks ago, and pulled the following:

1.17 g lateral and 1.06 braking, acceleration was only .48, but this is probably because the speeds are a lot higher on a road course (not topping 130 mph in a parking lot doing autocross, I am guessing) so there is not as much pull of acceleration as there would be from a slower speed.

I hope you track it before I get to page 25!

This is the first time I have seen anybody on this forum post accelerometer figures, so the first time I had a chance to compare (relatively new here). Yeah, I know this post is a year and a half old. It will take me a little while to get up to the end of the thread . . .

The instructors (required for new HPDE drivers) in the passenger seat do a very good job of keeping you on the track and safe while also eventually pushing your limits. They are usually very experienced and get a good sense of you and what you can handle, and will be pushing you beyond what you thought possible on the first day but with no real danger to you or your car. I am not exaggerating to say that I picked up valuable driving skills in the first day. I cannot wait to do it again!

thats good to hear. the other, even larger hurdle now is that in Phoenix all the halfway decent tracks are ones that require memberships to access. memberships that cost thousands, and i just do not find that worth it. the local PCA region used to do track days (supposedly open to anyone) at Arizona Motorsports Park, but that location has since been sold and closed. if i remember right, i heard it was going to be torn down for warehouses like the lots next to it, plus there were complaints from the houses nearby, which were built after AMP was. the kind of people who move next to a race track then complain about it to get it shut down are some of the people i respect least

I do not know anything about this track, but October:

https://members.drivenasa.com/events/4888

and in November, at another track:

https://members.drivenasa.com/events/4890

and December:

Information for beginners:

ad this group has one in five days (this weekend!):

https://proautosports.com/forms/pdf/2025 EVENT SCHEDULE.pdf

and at the Firebird track in October, right there in Phoenix. The Inde track in August is almost a 3 hour drive, but depending upon how nice the track it, perhaps very well worth it (I had to drive two hours to Michelin Road Atlanta, definitely worth it).

Firebird also hosted a NASA HPDE day in May, so they must still be open. Again in October.

Pity. That stinks. The government should protect recreation areas. Homeowners who move in and complain should have their homes bulldozed and be left homeless. Just my two cents.

My state passed a law to protect shooting ranges from these shenanigans.
