Recall: Windshield Wipers (Recall No. 26V418000 -- 6/29/26). 67k units affected

I got a message today telling me that stock cars on site awaiting delivery will be fixed/wiper recall completed in august.
The stop sale affects all others that were built before feb this year and not on dealership sites.

I bought my GT last week and I have to go back to the dealer today for the recall. They tell me they can’t finalize the sale until I have it fixed. Which is strange because everything is signed and finalized and I’ve had the car for a week.

Anyway, they say it takes two hours so I’ll go there today and just sit there for two hours.

Im really interested to hear how this goes.
Any other info you have regarding this will you post it up here please?

So is the stop-sale only for cars dealers check and require a new wiper motor? Seems most in-stock GTs in the SF Bay Area are pre-Feb builds and stop-saled with many dealers saying their cars failed the diagnostic and resolution coming in 2027.

Im under the impression that cars that are ALREADY at dealers will be getting the fix sorted out this month to be delivered to customers.
Sales guys who sell mustangs now and are within the affected build date with the wiper recall will be on a stop sale.

that included bringing the car in, returning it to the service dept parking, getting the assignment from the service writer, doing the test, setting up the camera and uploading the video, etc etc etc

another case of warranty work paying a fraction of what it takes to do the job and at a fraction of the "customer pay" labor rate.

They had trouble uploading the video. The Ford server was too busy. That took most of the time.

.3 is an insult

As I said above the .3 covers everything from soup to nuts.

When I was on the Insurance side of the collision industry, there were guys that would write a half hour for a bumper repair plus overhaul time. Paint was usually done by the paint dept at most larger shops.

You'd really have to be on my sh*t list for me not to allow a minimum of 2.5 hours for any bumper repair or small dent on a panel, plus associated R&I's

The reason being flat rate includes breaks and bathroom trips, getting the car in the shop, cleaning and degreasing the panel, doing whatever repairs were required and getting the panel to 400 grit finish because that is where paint time starts.

Was I a little more generous than I should have been? Maybe but not by a lot.

They are expecting people who are not their employees to fix their f*ck ups for free.

The Techs didn't make any money on the sale, but everyone else that did does not have to give away labor when something goes wrong.

When I had my frame shop, I had a minimum 2 hour set up and 2 hour pull charge. If I did it in an hour I was still billing two and two. Insurance companies pay that and don't blink.

I also charge a 1 hour minimum on diagnostics. The hardware and software costs are such that I can not eat the cost any longer. If you want your C.E.L. read for free, go across the street to AutoZone. If you want a proper diagnosis of what caused the car to toss 10 different codes you come to me.
