Recall posted by @graymatter

Recall date: 2026-06-29

Recall no: 26V418000

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mustang and 2025-2026 Mustang GTD vehicles. During certain cold temperature conditions, the windshield wipers may function only at their high-speed setting and the washing system may fail to function properly.

Recall consequence: Windshield wipers or a washing system that fails to function as intended can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Recall action: Dealers will inspect and replace the wiper motor as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed July 8, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late March 2027. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C32. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 2, 2026.

_________________________

Affected vehicles: select 2024-2026 Ford Mustang models produced between September 18th, 2024, and February 2nd, 2026, as well as select 2025-2026 Mustang GTD coupes built from January 16th, 2025, to February 2nd, 2026.

Number of affected vehicles: 67,842

The fix: dealers will inspect and replace the wiper motor as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on July 8th, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late March 2027. The Ford reference number for this recall is 26C32.

Apologize in advance to POST PATROL if subject already discussed.

Went looking at Explorers today and the salesman mentioned they can't sell any Mustangs due to the open recall. He stated FOMOCO told them a fix isn't expected until next year. Sucks for someone because they have a sweet GT350 on the showroom floor.

They can sell new Mustangs manufactured after February 2, 2026 they just can't sell existing inventory before that date until the fix. I guess that means any existing 2025/26 inventory that is affected could get a steep discount come March 2027! Be on the lookout for some great deals next year on those!

I wonder how many of these STOP SALE Mustangs are on the dealers lots????
I had a friend in Florida while signing the check for a new ECO BOOST have the deal cancelled the day the recall started. He was a bit upset.

The Ford Ambassador aka Salesman said a guy flew in the night before the recall was announced to get his car, one way ticket, you know the rest of the story

😆 Man; that is sad! Guess Ford's been a bit sensitive about selling defective wheels (of any degree of seriousness) since the exploding Pinto fiasco.

At least this one wasn't for anything really serious...................................like defective valve stem caps. 😉
Oh here we go with the Pinto's again. It was fake news, yes there were rear end explosions of Pinto's. This is true but, did you know more GM cars had more rear explosions than Pinto's? So tired of hearing this.

Pardon, wasn’t fake news, in fact i remember when they displayed the updated cars at the local mall (complete with tank shield). At the risk of derailing don’t forget firestone if you wanna get into the weeds. But for the sake of the thread, seems quality is job 1 but when you purchase a job 2 vehicle what do you expect, at least they’re fixing it and not claiming user error

The numbers did get exaggerated, but just because more people died in GM trucks (over a longer period of time), doesnt mean that the 27 people who where killed in pintos fires and the 24 others who were burned was fake news. What an odd thing to come in the defense of.
