I do own a EU Dark Horse, the puddle lights has the horse logo (not the DH one), and they only illuminate along with the "welcome" lights and the mirror folded (I have the auto-folding enabled), so when I approach the car with the keys, it "welcome" me (headlights etc.) and the horse is projected "correctly" (along the side) like my previous mustang, beside the mirrors are folded (so I guess this lights are angled in the right way). And that's it.. when I unlock the car, the puddle lights are gone, I have no puddle lights when I open the door etc. like my previous one, nor in other circumstances. Is it supposed to work like this for the EU models?
I can't remember where I saw them on the internet but they sell the Dark Horse lens for the mirror puddle lights.

Not interested really, ponies are fine too... I was only interested if I have them on while I unlock the car or while opening the doors, like the previous gen.

Any news??
I also own a European DH with folding mirrors.

Can the puddle light work with the mirrors folded down while the door is open?

P.S. I also had a 2020 Bullitt, and the ponies were beautiful to watch with the door open while climbing...

You mean mirrors unfolded (coz they works only when approaching with mirrors folded). Anyway, nope, no solutions. I don't know how they will be projected while unfolded tho, probably far from the door and distorted.

This is from the US owners manual, don't know if its the same for the EU

Puddle Lamps

The puddle lamps turn on when you

approach your vehicle with a remote

control or phone. If your vehicle has

auto-folding mirrors, the puddle lamps are

only on if the mirrors are unfolded and turn

off when the mirrors fold.

It's opposite for EU, all of us have the folding mirrors, and the puddle lights will turn ON only with the mirrors folded (approaching lights). So they couldn't work as courtesy lights when you open the door in example (coz the mirrors will unfold when you unlock the car), like they used to work in the S550. Neither they will work when you exit the car (it was a cool thing), hence you cannot see the "puddle" for what they are designed for. :p

Can this be fixed somehow with ForScan?

Dunno, i thought about it, but I believe, as I already said, it would look far from the door and distorted on the ground, coz the lens is designed to project the logo at that angle.

I bought the headlights with the DH logo... I'm pretty handy and might modify them to correct the angle if I could get them to work like they did on my Bullitt from last year! The fact that they worked as courtesy lights was awesome!

Are they original? Because modify the angle on the original puddle lights isn't a joke, they cannot be disassembled.

Yesterday I was rereading the ForScan section and found a couple of posts about puddle light that Roket had responded to... I might mention him and see if he can tell us anything more! Also, we'd first need to see how distant and distorted the image appears... modifying the projector would be the last step.

Yes, they are original parts taken through the spare part code... they are die-cast like the headlights, but with a Dremel and a bit of work I could manage... finally I would apply some sealant and they should be as good as new...

I've told ya, coz on my S550 I had to change one of those projectors, but they sent to me the wrong one (the version for the folded mirrors), then they sent me the correct one, leaving the other on to me.. so I wanted to "modify" it like you said: trying to open it with dremel to rotate the projector and such, couldn't make it, the wires are drowned into the plastic and the lamp cannot be rotated, also the transparent part is extremely fragile, the result was a complete mess. My suggestion is, if we ever find a way to turn the lamps ON like the S550, is to use the proper projectors (for unfolded mirrors).

So since I got the original ones, I'm assuming they're the ones for the US market. So they're most likely the ones for the fixed mirror. I just need to figure out how to make them work with the mirror open, and they should already be rotated to the correct angle!
