Pros vs cons, red vs white

My current car is white and my S650 will also be white. IMO white is one of the easier colors to keep clean and also tends to look clean even with dirt on it. I highly recommend getting the Nite Pony Package if you're going with Oxford White though.

This is my exact spec just not convertible. Base GT manual NPP red Brembos! Should be receiving it this week! I’ll post pics

I too am torn between Oxford White and Rapid Red.

Rapid Red can appear different depending on lighting conditions, making it more interesting.
Especially under a bright blue sky, it has a purple tinge to it (gloss coat reflecting the blue sky).

Oxford White is just, ummm, boring white.

Absolutely agree, Rapid Red is a bit dark.
Race Red always looks great, but is just asking for trouble here being cop bait.

Having said that, if the Ford metallic red was the same as Mitsubishi's Soul Red Crystal metallic, then it would be a no-brainer. This colour looks stunning, but it's becoming quite a common sight here. I read that it is an absolute bastard to color match though.

There are lots of white cars around here, so it won't be a stand out.
Good, I want to blend in with the crowd and not be cop bait.

There are also many red cars around here, so it will stand out, but not like dog's balls.

Oxford White will be significantly easier to match in a body shop if the worst happens, and panels need repairing.

White tends to lend itself more to customizing with decals.

Rapid Red being a metallic tends to "pop".
I'm hoping application of Bead Maker after a wash might give the white a glossy finish to help the pop factor.

I’ve used a California duster since the mid 90s. Used it on a dark blue SHO a dark blue Explorer and a dark red Mustang. Saved a lot of wet washing.

The only white I would personally go with, if it was an option, would be Wimbledon white. Mostly because it would match my 65 F100. Aside from that it's all been rapid red with atlas blue teasing me. I've decided to stick with my original choice and go red. You should stick with the Oxford white if that's your jam.

I've never in my life seen a car color change insurance rates unless it's some sort of special painted color. It has everything to do with your history, area, etc.

actually i have heard that red car insurance is a little more because it calls out attention. also for police since you can see from long distance. and cant blend in the traffic.

Remember there are 2 reds available. Rapid Red is quite a bit different than Race Red. I learned to love Rapid Red.
