Hey All,

I am interested in acquiring the performance pack front splitter for my base gt.

I have seen forum posts pointing to this listing as a new take off splitter > https://www.ebay.com/itm/326297524107

I poked around a bit more on ebay and found this listing for a new splitter > https://www.ebay.com/itm/365514032543
This appers to be the same exact part as best I can tell, but would appear to be brand new so no less risk of shipping damage on the splitter from delivery on a vehicle etc. And a few bucks cheaper to boot.

Anything I am missing here? Anything else I should be aware of?

thanks!

Idk. If you search that part number on eBay a bunch of listings show up now. Most have sketchy description and "brand". Maybe somebody is manufacturing a knock of pp splitter now.

I bought a take off one from that BMZ collectibles seller but it came all bent up, they did refund my money. But lot of guys on here have bought from them and been happy

Wish there was better front splitter options. I have a dark horse spoiler getting delivered Friday, my car is definitely going to need something on the front to match. Can't bring myself to glue on the air design one. Leaning towards RTR even though I'm not a huge fan of how big it is.

I know what you mean…The Air Design splitter was the perfect look I wanted it, but was so disappointed it just taped on. What that told me is that it does nothing if just tape holds it on. I got it anyway, and it is holding fine because I really liked the look.

I had 18 years of an aggressive splitter on my 06 GT and with the Eibach springs, it was a PIA because it prevented me from pulling up on car ramps and had to be removed for alignment…plus….curbs…lol.

Agreed, the performance pack splitter is very subtle and looks good buttt it isnt anything to write home about.

Not excited about air designs tape/caulk.
Not excited about RTR as is basically a dinner table out the front.
Most of the other options are sorta / meh to me.

I do also like the fact that the pp splitter is a direct bolt on without modification to the car in anyway.

LMAO…..”Dinner Table”. :cwl: I was calling them bookshelves.

Agree with you all….There are a ton of splitter designs, and none seem to feel “right”. IMO the Air Design felt the most proportional…enough to make me forgive the tape as primary mounting. The look and texture is the same as the rocker panels and rear valance too….so it felt cohesive.

There is another bolt on design I did like, but it was a 3 piece. I wasn’t sure I would like the seams.

The air design looks great, i just hate that attachment method. It looks like a OEM part (clearly heavy collab with ford on this one) and feels like it should have come with the car.

I just dont know about the long term viability of the tape and glue.

I saw a white Ecoboost in the showroom equipped with the Air Design splitter, leading me to believe it is part of an option package. It is sold at the Ford website, so in some ways I guess you could call it an OEM part?

I believe the mild angle of the splitter doesn’t have much downforce and the tape can last a loooong time. I think the black silicone bead you put above the tape is nothing more than a rain guard to help keep the 3M tape from getting wet. With proper prep, degreasing and 3M adhesion prep, it should hold very well. If you like the look of the Air Design, get it.

Right now I have a front splitter, rear spoiler, rear louvers, side window louvers, and trunk blackout panel ALL held on with nothing but 3M tape…lol.

I had a Boss 429 style hood scoop (fake) and rear lovers held on by 3M tape on my 06 Mustang GT and it held rock solid for 18 years. The front splitter on my 06 was aggressive, so the downforce pulled hard on the tape and I had to reinforce it with screws on the op.
