When using the Paddle Shifters should you, come off the accelerator as you would with a traditional manual, or just keep the accelerator in place as you toggle the paddle. JFYI: I'm 79 and grew up driving "Stick", so it's not as if this is all a mystery to me. Thank You. VAT

I don’t come off the throttle. I figure it is an AT, which would shift itself in auto mode while on the throttle; using the paddle shifters doesn’t change how it shifts, just when it shifts.

in paddle shifting you are changing how the transmission shifts. The more you rev out the engine the harder the transmission will shift. If done correctly you can chirp the tire even break the rear tires. I had a 14 mustang gt Automatic and put 4.10 gears. In manual mode people thought I was driving a stick. In manual mode the transmission will not shift Automatically. I would easily chirp gears and break the tires loose.
