This is just my 2 cents as this oil argument can go on forever as every diver and vehicle has different purpose or style of driving.
my gen 2 coyotes have 5w-20w on the filler cap and it’s probably adequate for most climates in mild normal driving conditions. Ford previously recommended 5w-30w for track days with the gen 2, now I see that they recommend 5w-50w for track and or boosted engines.
my twin turbo cars run amsoil 15w-50w because I trust it and it’s hotttt! In Texas right now heat index was 122 yesterday. NA coyotes run motorcraft 5w-30w even if I’m abusing them.
Again just what works for me so far with multiple engines over 100k miles and no oil related failures.
If you want to dive into the deep end I recommend you check out the “oil geek” Lake Speed Jr. on his you tube channel to fully understand the science and engineering behind the oil.
And most of all remember that the 0w and 5w oils are in the engine to help out with the fuel economy for the CAFE testing.
I probably wouldn’t run a 20-50w unless I was racing the car full time on the track and had opened up the bearing clearances.
Lastly and my number one rule, make sure the oil is at operating temperature before hammering on the engine and watch the cylinder head temperatures when in traffic with the ac running.

Hell no I wouldn’t run 20w50 and I live in a tropical weather. I would however eventually move towards a API SQ oil 0w40. On track I would run 5w50 or 10w60.

Road racing and maybe a visit to the strip. Just for fun with DH if I would race seriously I would take my Formula race car to track.
