Please google alpha chassis/platform and delete these gen 5/gen 6 Camaro comments. Just trying to help you out lol.

Man, 95% of the cars on the road have a trapezoidal license plate character line. Yes, there's sone relation, but the only difference really between the 5th and 6th gen Camaro is the new grille design. On the s650, the rear has a far more extreme indented angle, the taillights are very aggressively angled. They got rid of the black contrasting section, and the flat section of the decklid is a little longer. The sides have more fluid surfacing, with the return of the hockey stick character line. The roofline also drops down at a slightly sharper angle. The front has a radically different appearance as well.

exactly lol...the Gen 6 Camaro is an engineering and performance champ in every way for what it is and unfortunately didn't get the sales backing over price hike and lack of distinguishing looks apart from the prior model for the average public. The car itself is just an amazing performer and the easy winner in that regard...blew the S550 out of the water quickly, but the price point and model strategy was so far out of whack.

The S650/S550 is literally barking right up that same tree and is an eerily similar visualization as far as general public perception could go.

There seems to be some confusion here, I know the 6th gen Camaro uses the alpha platform, never said it didn't. All I said was that the 6th gen looked virtually identical to the 5th gen. Whereas the s650 looks kinda like the s550, but has enough changes to where you could easily tell them apart from most angles. As someone who's into car design, and can tell most cars apart with ease, I couldn't tell if I was looking at a new or old gen Camaro when walking up to the rear for the first time. That's a problem.

The issue with the Camaro is it sacrifices daily livability for all our performance. That's ok for something more exotic like the Corvette, but for the Camaro, nah. Fun fact, they were apparently testing out other design themes with better outward visibility, and more radical looks, but the focus groups rejected them in favor of the far more traditional 6th gen theme we got.
