You’re right. There don’t seem to be many Silvers out there for whatever reason. But it’s a beautiful color on the S650. Very nice work!

Jeeptrix:
Thanks! That spoiler on my 06 Gt is the stock GT spoiler. I just removed it and painted it Dupont Satin Black.

Kris:
Thanks as well! I had no plans to buy silver. I once had a black and silver Prowler….rare Black Tie edition. I wasn’t planning on getting silver then either. But somehow the color just caught my eye, and won me over the Vapor Blue.

If anyone wants links to the parts I bought, just ask. I provided them in some PM’s I got.

Ghost:
Thanks as well!!!! IKR? Strange not seeing more silvers out there.

Very handsome car! Been looking for a set of those aluminum Astra Hammond louvers myself but trying to avoid the double dipping of pricing and markups and tariffs. Believe it or not those are made in Ontario Canada but most distributors are only in the US!

Phoned the manufacturer and said he wouldn't sell direct despite the fact I'm working for an automotive parts distributor! My previous distributor would have sold them to me for $750CAD but they've stopped ordering them due to low demand. Anywhere else I'd be paying $1500+ CAD.

Gonna keep looking though this post has confirmed for me all I need to know those aluminium louvers are going to look mean on the S650s! There's hardly any pictures of them online.

Well done! That is one classy looking hot rod. The silver & black rock. And your choices are perfect. Elegant.

Ciulster.:

That sucks your locality makes getting the louvers such a Pain. If you go to www.americanmuscle.com, there’s a ton of reader submitter photos of those louvers in place. But if buying, www.cjponyparts.com has them cheaper.

Thanks for the kind words! I was afraid those louvers would be too chunky, but they are slick enough to get away with. They sit tight, no rattles.

Ken H.

Thanks! My second black and silver car! Here’s a pic of the first one I had. Owned it for 6 years. My daily driver. Only 163 made in that color…. Was a dang circus wherever I went. Funny…those back wheels were 20” and at the time, I thought 20” wheels were wild….Now they are all around on my new GT.

(OT alert! Sorry…)

Hi All! I Got this beautiful GT Premium with only 4 miles on it. Has the 3.55 ratio option and variable exhaust, which is extremely fun! I was set on getting the Vapor Blue, but this silver was sitting in the lot and caught my eye. (It’s odd, I don’t see many 2025 silver GT’s.) So I traded in my 2006 I drove since 2007. I got the Ford Employee promotion which helped the price, and got a very decent trade-in.

Within the first week I did what I personally considered Must-Have exterior mods.

From the Ford website:
Front splitter
rear black out panel
rear spoiler

From CJ’s
aluminum rear window louvers…CJ’s had best price. Went even cheaper for Father’s Day…D’oh! Doesn’t that always happen?!?

from AM
gloss black 1/4 window louvers…only $60 for the pair. (I heeded the warnings and didn’t use the included tape. Got my own 1/2” 3M tape and adhesive promoter!)

Funny, every one of these parts is only held on by 3M tape. I prepped like crazy …and applying every piece was nerve wracking!

Personally, I am very happy with every part that went on and the final look. I’m 60 and found driving fun again. (My 06 GT was lowered and ride was rough, and my wife hated the Flowmaster drone). I have nicknamed the car Starship Enterprise, because it does look and feel like a damn spaceship to me. My 06 felt downright crude compared to this!

So I’m still in the break-in phase and finding reasons to go anywhere…lol. Incredibly fun to drive!

Bro, those louvres look amazing! Don’t normally care for them. How is it keeping the back window clean with them on?

RLE55: Thanks! These are held on by 6 acorn nuts mounted to 6 aluminum posts on plates 3M taped to the rear window. Not as convenient as my older hinged ones I had on my ‘06, but oh well….lol.

goodlettjr: lol….Thanks as well! There’s a fine line between tasteful and tacky sometimes. But I knew the exact look I wanted and loved the look of louvers since I was a little kid…and that was a loooooong time ago. They are also very functional in helping keep the interior cool in the summer. That’s a fairly big flat piece of glass back there.

I didn’t want an overly aggressive wing or splitter either. No hate on them, I just wanted a little more understated. Just happy to have had so many choices!

Not to go OT, but here’s what I drove for 18 years before trading it in….I wanted a 70 Boss Mustang look. it was also lowered, and had a JLT intake and SCT tune. Some people even thought it was a ‘70…lol.

You could say there’s a look I tend to like…lol.

I l love the look of the gen5 Mustang. Might have kept it but a red light runner took that option away. My 24 definitely is more powerful and refined but the 08 definitely looked cool!

Thanks! Yes, I have been reading opinions on rear louvers for these cars (on Reddit) and am surprised at the hate some have for them. As much as I wanted them, at first I was also hesitant about ruining the sleek look the car has. Once they were on, I was like…”OK, I can do this”

Yes, auto Trans. Trying to get used to the extra 5 gears After my ‘06. At least in sport mode it winds out more, but saving that mode mostly for after break in. I don’t like the paddle shifters…only good maybe for dropping a gear or 2 going up a steep hill. IMO shifting through 10 gears in the auto trans is just tedious IMO.
Starship Enterprise,
I recently broke 2k on mine and I basically do what you said. I do downshifting most of the time and let the car do the upshifting most of the time. My attention span won't let me shift through 10 gears! Glenn

Ken:
That Roushcharged is beautiful! Still had traditional gages instead of digital? I thought I’d hate the new digital dash, but once behind the wheel, it didn’t bother me so much.

Steve:
Thanks! maybe I’ll make some louver converts here….lol. They also keep the interior cooler in summer. My intentions is my car never seeing rain or snow/salt. If I have to remove the louvers, 6 acorn nuts come off and it lifts off the mounting posts. Not as convenient as my 06 louvers which just hinged upward after swinging 2 latches….but not horrible.

GnatsumGT:
Beautiful silver! Love those wheels!!! Can you show more pics of the stripes?

Mike:
Beautiful cars! Sorry to hear about your accident. Heck, I had my new GT only 3 days, and had to dive into the shoulder because some brain dead driver took a wide turn and was coming straight at me fully into my lane! I’m talking only 20 feet away. I sat in the shoulder as she passed me completely in MY lane! I was shaken to say the least.

Glenn:
I hear ya! 10 gears is too much for sporty manual shifting. Too incremental. Would have to click down like 3 or 4 times for anything meaningful to happen….lol. But yeah, great for hills.

Tarz825:
Thanks! I have no idea if louvers are a trend, but for that large flat back window, they certainly have a purpose to keep the interior cooler. I’ve been a fan of Boss Mustangs since I was a little kid, so louvers and blacked out tail panel are deeply ingrained in my preference.

Reddit has a lot of hate for louvers, so I don’t know. At my age I do what pleases me. I’m just glad they don’t look too clunky, because the back end of the car is very sleek.

Some here might not like the louvers, so thank you for being nice anyway…lol. IMO this is the best and most active forum for Mustangs, so I’m happy to be here.

Some more shots for no reason…lol. Love this car!!!!

Since I can’t load pics in order…the bottom pic is stock as I got it. Stock spoiler and rear panel not blacked out yet.

Nice, mine had only 4.3 miles (7kilometers) when I drove it off the lot :-) almost 2 weeks later had just over 1100 miles on it and wound up at the local dragstrip/road course where I finished breaking her in :-)
