My 9 month wait is over - the blue ember Dark Horse has arrived

All I can say is the 9 month wait after 78 miles driven was well worth it. The car meets and exceeds my expectations. Complete with the DH appearance package and handling package with recaro seats and 10 speed automatic, I love this car! Just wish the dealer had gotten the outdoor cover ordered in advance! My only comment, outside of amazing, is she's a gas guzzler, but didn't buy her for the mileage. Right from the dealer to Impressive Auto for full Xpel and ceramic coating along with windshield protection. Then onto Ultrasounds for the new Escort Redline Ci 360c built in for complete laser protection and stealth driving comfort. Now just need some warmer weather in the NE to drive more.

I ordered my Dark Horse only 8 months ago, since then in order to not have mine cancelled, I had to delete the Carbon Fiber Wheels, then about a month later, dealer called and said if I want to keep my car, and the dealership not loose their only allocation for a dark horse I had to delete the HP. So I did. Then 2 weeks later to the exact day of last call, he said that Ford is no longer offering the DH Appearance Package. Which meant NO. Ember Blue Metallic, no notorious blue calipers,etc. Wow talk about disappointing. I told him to also remove the painted stripes as well. My family has been buying new Ford or Ford cars since 1959. My Dad bought a new 1959 Mercury Monterey. I personally have bought 9 new Ford's.2 of which are a 2000 GT,and a 2008 GT. Doesn't matter one bit to Ford. I guess I'm bashing a bit sorry. I'm just glad you got the car you want,and don't have to settle for less. God Bless and enjoy your beautiful car.

Thank you and sorry to hear about that. My suggestion is you contact the Ford contact line and explain your long standing relationship with Ford. Ask to speak with a Senior Manager at Ford HQ...
I know it may sound like it won't matter but it does. I bought a 2018 Dodge Challenger and had a 10 month wait and when the order was going to get cancelled I contacted Dodge directly and kept calling until one day I got a message from the CEO of Dodge reassuring me my order would be completed. Squeaky wheel gets oiled ??? Might be worth trying. Good luck and blessing to you in this holiday season.

ILuckydog7, first off. Congrats on the new car looks awesome. I don’t understand how my dealership said Ford told them no more handling packages on the Darkhorse? I ordered mine one day after yours and they called me three weeks ago and said the handling package is discontinued. If I wanted my car I had to order it without the handling package or wait and risk the chance the order will be canceled. Plus the price went up and I’m not protected? I opted to wait. I can’t believe that one day difference was when they decided no more handling packages and now they want more money? Not sure what’s going on there?

Not sure what to say other than maybe just the luck of the draw.
At this point, I would assume the order window for 2025 opens Mar/April, don't know for sure, but they owe you a fill on your order, maybe the 2025 version has additional bells and whistles.
My experience with cars, if its not exactly what you want, hold off. You'll see them in the secondary market over the next few months, partially used but with the packages you wanted.

In the early 70s our family had Mom, Dad and us three kids on an auto insurance policy with Trans America. Some how or another they applied the premium to the wrong account and we were getting notices that our insurance was canceled. My dad kept working with the agent trying to get it corrected but the policy would come and go. Finally my mom wrote a satirical letter to the head of Transamerica talking about all the thing we attempted to correct the problem and her warnings to each of us to drive carefully because we might not be insured. The letter got the problem corrected and shortly after it was sent, a bouquet of flowers appears for my mom from the head of Trans America insurance. There are ways of getting their attention by taking an off beat approach.

Congrats Luckydog7 on your 2024 Dark (Hotse) Horse!! I'm wondering if you had any notifications from Ford or Dealer about your order. Other then the confirmation email from FORD that they got your order, did you get any emails/texts about scheduled/build/shipping on your car? I ordered one on 7/17 and got my Ford email about my order. I ordered a Dark Horse Premium with HP, Painted Hood and stripes, AT10 and other than the FORD confirmation haven't heard a peep.... I've been looking elsewhere country wide to find the same specs I have but found one with it but with my secondary color.... Pondering on what to do. In the forums, I'm reading a few folks are getting cancellation notices of their cars.....
