Fed is forward looking. They see something going on. And the numbers don’t reflect that because the numbers reflect it during the current month. Again look up the private sector jobs numbers vs how many layoffs have happened. Writing is on the wall
Jesus guy. What are we even arguing about right now?

The current unemployment rate and its future forcast have nothing to do 2024 mustang sales.

Some of you would argue over the color of shit it seems. This thread has devolved into a total train wreck.

I mean I originally quoted you because you said it’s due to inflation and interest rates. Both of which can be correlated with unemployment rate and forward looking economy. But fair enough, we can stop arguing about it

A little farther than 5 miles

Remember it was closed before the Coyote was started for a couple years.

Can they start the Romeo engine plant back up?

If your government throw enough money at Ford they might, but it would take some time. Almost certainly not worth it.

Also consider the $billions Canada pay to support the Windsor plant that Ford would lose.

No, Ford will just pass on the tariff costs to the consumer.

It is part three of a previous wreck actually!

Where is the best selling f-series produced? More sales than the mustang?

You do know where the Coyote is made?
Yes, although i still purchase, support, and prefer American products and companies. It’s an unofficial honor if an import gets selected over a homegrown-that thing had better be better than the best of the best of the rest.

Consumer can feel that way (even though most consumers will choose the cheaper option), but if I was a Ford executive, I'd be frightened to think whether moving all production to America will result in 1. increased car prices, 2. creating an american factory that becomes non-competitive the second tariffs are dropped, 3. Losing global footprint/market share to other car manufacturers that can sell . It's a global world and the last time we tried isolationism it went backwards dramatically. It's just how the economy works.
Their trucks are mostly popular.

This scenario unironically would lead to china becoming the number one most powerful nation state for decades, if not centuries. It would also lead to russia becoming much more powerful than its current form. This scenario where we get canada and mexico would not benefit America at all LOL
Oddly lemmings follow leaders. Perspective is paramount.

Agreed, my parents both emigrated to America and when anti asian sentiment went up during covid, they were greatly discriminated against. this is despite both of them being hard working citizens for decades, paying taxes, going to local city council meetings. Doesn't matter to some people, it's just about complaining and blaming immigrants. It's just crazy to me because we are a nation of immigrants and we are all the same flesh and blood, but people just want to find someone to blame for their situations. And the rich have managed to avoid that blame by convincing everyone to blame it on immigrants.
It’s not the immigrant it’s the action, not the label but the activity. Big difference between legal and illegal anything but and however topic soup.

What are the reasons that sales of Mustangs are so low? My take is that Mustang fans are now in their seventies and probably not in the market for a 2 door coupe. The high cost is also preventing a new, younger generation of Mustang buyers. Ford needs to do something that will create the enthusiasm that the original Mustangs created. Something that would attract both older buyers (maybe a 4 door? a Hybrid?) and younger buyers (more value at lower cost?). The Mach-e is outselling the gas Mustang, so what can Ford do?
With Trump's new tariffs on European imports, European is placing a tariff on American imported cars. That is going to hurt Ford's sales globally. As for Mustang sales in America, this is 1992 all over again. Ford raised its prices to cover the union's pay increases and it only has one body style to sell to the public (not counting the electric version). Performance cars not popular anymore to the general public. The other day I saw a new electric Dodge Charger driving to the dealership. Folks like what they saw until they read the window sticker.

Not true

BMW stated at the beginning of the year that the M2 rose by 64% in 2024 compared to the previous year

But another member said because they still sell less M2's than Mustang's, it doesn't count.
Just webbed the M2 as I am not familiar, boy those things are ugly in my opinion.

I just received my vin number and date of production on a 2025 Mustang. I'm 70, so it might be the "only older people can afford them". Me? I'm getting rid of my people mover (Explorer) and reliving my younger days. My first car was a 1967 metallic blue Mustang Fastback. 289 engine, with posi 4:11 rear and a Hurst manual shift. 12 second quarter miles. My new one will be vapor blue metallic and ecoboost with the 101a package. Don't need the bells and whistles and GT, just the feel of the road again. Can't wait!
