From one of my favorite YouTube channels, the Darkhorse stretching its legs on the autobahn.................

Listen to that induction note at the 3.18min mark! This is why I love a naturally aspirated engine, nothing to muffle the pure sound of the engine, and no need for tacky fake noises to be pumped through the speakers.................hello BMW!

Also, it's amazing many revs are needed to get away without bogging. And how naked does the Darkhorse look without the rear wing.

I've watched a fair few videos by these guys (Max is the main driver). They drive some crazy cars at crazy speeds down the Autobahn. There's a GT350 on their channel too.

I like how the have multiple videos formats on each car they review. If you want to hear a spoken review, they have you covered. If you simply want to hear the engine without talk or music, they are the best in the business.

I'm into cars for multiple reasons, but how a car sounds is the main one. So a channel like this has me covered. I also like pDrive/Driving Enthusiast for the same reasons.

That’s an NL-registered car (Netherlands). They are the equivalent of US$ 162,303 to buy and register there.

This is awesome, 1st time it made me interested in a manual dark horse, it probably is a blast whipping the piss out of it!

We can all make fun of the BMW noises, but the M2 G87 does a low 4s to 100kph and 100-200kph in 8.8s, and the M2 and EU DH are have prices quite close to each other

Check out their video where they take a Shelby GT500 to the autobahn and LET IT EAT!!!! That Supercharged Whine and Voodoo compliment each other so well. And he (Max) sounds likes he’s actually afraid of that BEAST.

I was actually cross shopping an M2, Supra and used Jaguar F-Type against a new S650. The BMW 3.0T engines might be fast, but I just know I would have lost interest in them, and that's coming from an inline-6 fan boy.

Speed isn't everything, and I don't think anyone driving a V8 Mustang is going to be complain about a lack of speed. For the same reason, I also love the Lexus IS500, GS-F, RC-F, IS-F and LC500 that come with the 5.0 V8. All are a long way from being the fastest of their type, but they have the "fizz".

What a shame we don't have these unrestricted zones in our Nanny state. :frown:

someone i know who has an auto US Dark Horse did his own test and found that, in fact, it is electronically limited to 160mph and wont go past that no matter the gear you are in, even when using paddle shifters. looking it up, it seems like the advertised top speed is really 166mph not 168. anyways, i know its only 6mph below the advertised limit and its so high that you are 100% getting your license suspended at least if you get caught going that fast, but it still feels like being lied to a bit.

i also found a video by Hennessey that did a top speed run

they got to 161mph, and the 10 speed was just cruising in 9th at 5000rpm. 6th gear and beyond it was shifting 500 to 1000rpm sooner than it did for the first 5. you can just tell that the 10 speed could easily go much faster
