Hey fellas. Just purchased a 2024 GT with the MT82 transmission. Car has 23,000 miles. It’s my 3rd Mustang with the MT82, but it’s the only one that makes this noise when releasing the clutch to get rolling in 1st gear. I can only describe it as the creaking noise you hear when an old door is slowly opened in a horror movie lol. It didn’t do it on the test drive or on the 9 hour drive back home after purchasing it. Just randomly started happening a week or two ago. The noise doesn’t happen if the car is turned off or in neutral and I press the clutch pedal down. It also doesn’t happen when I’m reversing and slipping the clutch in that scenario. It only happens when I’m at a complete stop and put the car in 1st to get moving. The car is still under warranty and an appointment has been scheduled with my local Ford dealer for later this month, but if anyone has an idea as to what the source of this noise is, it would help a lot so I can guide the dealer techs in the right direction. Because surely this isn’t normal operation? It may not sound loud in the video but I promise it’s loud enough to be really annoying and I have to turn my music up really loud in order to drown it out.
Looking forward to any ideas!
