I've been noticing a creaking/squeaking sound coming from the back of the car when going over uneven surfaces at low speeds. It is especially noticeable when the car is cold and backing out of my driveway. Low speed turns and anything that gets the car to shift weight causes this creaking. I was thinking it could possibly be the rear seats rubbing, so I'm going to try lowering the rear seats and see if that eliminates this creaking. Was wondering if anyone else was having this issue or may have any ideas as to what else it could be.

Mine did the same thing over a year ago and found out that it was the passenger rear seat latches. Put the seat down and see if the noise stops, if it does try lubricated them and see if it disappears.

Great, thanks for the info! I will try this later today.

My experience of many others before you is passenger seat latches or bad shocks.
Fingers crossed it is the seat latches, although I assume the shocks would be under warranty. Will report back if I find out that the problem is not the seat latches.

Quick update, I lubricated the U-shaped metal bars that the rear seats latch onto and the creaking noise is gone. Thanks for the input guys. I'm glad it was an easy fix.

I wrapped a small layer of electrical tape around the round metal part of the latch where the seat engages on to. This is more of a permanent fix.
If it starts squeaking again I'll do this.

Unrelated but Wifey's 24 VW Atlas was making a buzzing noise at certain speeds. Sounded like it was coming from the dash. After pressing down on all points with no luck, pushed on the EzPass mounted to the windshield with that clear 3M velcro stuff and it was loose. Problem solved.
