Looking to Upgrade from a 21GT to a DH...is the B&O still junk?

Even if you just replace the subwoofer with a $49 Hifonics, it's not a bad system at all. Not great, but not horrible.

I got my relatively loaded GT Convertible with the 6 speed brand new for $53k. I feel like I paid a fair price. The current price is bonkers stupid though.

My car was 56.6K in 2024, right now the MSRP on a similar car is over 65K for a 2026.

I don't even want to know what a 27 is going to be

A base model Vette is looking like a better deal every day.

It's all a personal decision. All above comments are personal opinions and I respect them. I paid a $hit load for a GT with AVE , Corsa/AFE induction and soon an H pipe. I sure as $hit don't want rap music hindering my ability to hear my (real) Mustang Music. So, for me the B&O is plenty good enough as "background" music. BTW you can use the balancing app to customize to a decent degree (for a mass produced vehicle) the tone, fade etc.

yeah, I paid $53k but sticker was $61k and a current similar one would be $69k. It’s obscene.

You’re not wrong. Premium to some isn’t always to others. No different than a Lamborghini vs a Mustang, as a sport car. However, the B/O is marketed as premium and sold as an add on when it isn’t truly premium. Adding a $100 Pioneer sub improves the sound? That’s not premium at any level, yet it’s better? It’s all about perceive value and the connection between the ears. For some, ear buds are hifi for others it’s Paradigm, to each their own.

The Mustang B&O sounds much better than most car systems (with the Pioneer sub) and is better than the base system in the car. How else do you describe it other than premium?

The car is the wrong car for a premium system as it is just too noisy inside.

If you wanted Ford to fit a £5k system as some car makers offer then it would cost £5k more and yet more people would moan.

Consider what Porsche do in the 911, a car that costs almost double the Mustang

Standard audio (transistor radio), Bose system (£1200) just about audible or Burmester (£5000) pretty good but the car is so noisy it is pointless anyway!

If you want genuine premium audio in a car that is moving you are starting in the wrong place as unless you are in a Bentley or similar the environment is just too noisy, unless you just want massive bass and hearing loss.

I have the B&O in my DH, and I have it in my BRaptor. In both, I have changed the SUB and the Center speaker.

In the BRAptor I added a JL Audio SUB, along with an amp, and powered the SUB and rear pods. I used the B&O on the kick and front and center. Sounds great for my use.

For my DH, I changed the SUB to a Pioneer 4-ohm dual-channel, and I changed the center speaker. No AMPS. Sounds good. Bass is clear; also, when using the surround option, having a good center speaker will clean up a lot of the channel. It makes a difference.

These low-cost mods work very well for me, and I'm satisfied with the results.
