piss poor gas mileage. That’s all I can think of. Maybe getting some bad winter blend where you are. Or leaving E in the tank too long and not running it through. Before winter you’ll want to run it all out and switch to a fresh tank of 93. Make sure you have a 93 tune.
Ok, cool.
Yeah, I remember the gas mileage but that doesn’t bother me.
I like to drive so that doesn’t bother me.
And 93 is a good way to flush the system in the winter as I drive it when it’s dry and not too salty.
Also seemed like oil needed changing more often.
Thanks for the info

Availability. Around here Meijer is the only place to get it, each Meijer store only has ONE E85 pump, and they close at like 10pm.

Not danger, but a drawback.
Yeah, I’ve got a Thortons 2 miles from my house that consistently tests at e70
But not much else around.

The whipple tuning isn’t gonna be worth it either… forget 1k

id1300s are gonna be 2 grand, return fuel system another 2 grand or more, then the tuning device and tune…

it’ll be 5-6 thousand bucks to put a whipple car on E85…

Man that stage 2 kit was a bargain when it’s all said and done.

Akin to using 87 in a 93 only setup when e85 not available?

No. The air to fuel ratio is completely different, so the tune needs to be changed when E85 is not available.
That’s what i’m saying. It’s basically running crap gas in a car that requires premium, akin to putting 87 in a boosted 13:1 engine, isn’t timing gonna be off, way off?

Timing will be way off but the amount of fuel will be off as well by like 30%

^ a danger?
Like if I got bad E85 and the tune increases timing which would be really bad for the engine.
That’s why I liked my flex tune before. Eased the mind a little

The biggest risk with straight E85 tune is that you are tuned on a lower percentage say mid 70s from pump E85, and you fill up again and get some pure ass E85 90 plus ethanol, you run the risk of going lean if it’s beyond your fuel system/trims Margin of error to compensate.

Which, imo, it’s good to discuss these things prior to jumping off the pier

I am sure as more time passes the ability of the existing hardware to adjust for E85 variances in percentage of alcohol will become more well known.

I am curious at what point the expensive fueling system upgrades kick in. Obviously turbo or supercharging is already there if you want to run E85, but what about higher end naturally aspirated?

A lot to figure out moving forward.

Return style fuel systems and injectors and so on cost is no joke.

I am really wondering IF we will get tuning in Europe as well. I am always biased due to the warranty.

So if tuning is now availabel in the states, does it make sense for people to get a DH while you can get a boost on your GT?

Waranty depends on the dealer some don't care unless its stupidly obvious.
