From Ford:

Get instant, personalized answers about your vehicle right from your phone. The new Ford AI Assistant is rolling out directly to the Ford owner app. Because the app is already linked to your specific vehicle, you don’t need to enter your model or trim. Just type a question or upload an image to get tailored support and save time searching for answers.

You can use the assistant to understand features like Tow/Haul mode or BlueCruise, troubleshoot quick fixes like a window that bounces back up, and check your vehicle health status before a trip.

To check if you have it, open your Ford app and look for the blue oval and spark icon in the top right corner of the home screen. We are rolling this out in waves, so keep an eye out for it.

Your App Just Got Smarter: Our Ford and Lincoln AI Assistant Is Open for Questions

August 10, 2026

Imagine having an expert on your specific vehicle sitting right in your pocket, ready to answer your questions at a moment's notice. Now, the new Ford and Lincoln AI assistant is beginning to roll out directly to the Ford and Lincoln apps customers already know and use.

We started this rollout in the first half of 2026 and are now ramping up more broadly across vehicle lines. This will bring immediate, personalized intelligence directly to 8 million customers across all eligible Ford and Lincoln nameplates.1

Earlier this year, we introduced our plans to bring customers a thoughtful, integrated AI experience starting first in the owner app and then expanding to the vehicle. As we said, we aren’t waiting for a distant future to deliver this — for retail or commercial customers. In fact, this milestone for retail customers comes on the heels of launching Ford Pro AI, our solution designed to help commercial fleet operations run more efficiently than ever.

With the new AI assistant, whether you want to understand a vehicle feature such as BlueCruise hands-free highway driving, check if you can fit furniture in your cargo space, or troubleshoot quick fixes, now you can get instant, highly personalized answers tailored precisely to your specific vehicle.

By taking an app-first approach, we are bringing the future of Ford intelligence directly to customers instantly. You don’t have to wait to buy a brand-new vehicle; we’re upgrading the ownership experience you already have, starting today.

Tap into the Ford and Lincoln App, Ask a Question, and Discover

We will roll out the feature to eligible customers’ apps in waves. This gradual rollout will help us learn, iterate, and quickly scale to deliver the best possible experience across all our unique vehicle lines.

How will you know when the assistant is available for you? When customers open their app, on the vehicle home screen, there will be a blue oval and spark icon at the top right corner of the app to launch the AI assistant.

Since the app is already linked to each customer’s specific vehicle, you can tap in immediately without explaining which specific vehicle model year and trim you have. Simply type a question or upload an image to get instant information. Most importantly, because the AI assistant is built natively into the owner app, it has secure access to help keep the customer in control.

The AI assistant provides instant, personalized support so you can quickly access information in the owner’s manual and save time searching, but it is also a live tool. By connecting to your vehicle’s real-time telemetry via the app, it can analyze and provide guidance around current vehicle information such as tire pressure or oil life. Here is what we mean:
Master Your Vehicle: Learn which features your vehicle is equipped with, such as BlueCruise hands-free highway driving, and how to use features such as tow/haul mode or if you can fit a piece of furniture in the cargo space.
Solve Problems Quickly: Get step-by-step instructions for quick fixes, such as troubleshooting a window that keeps bouncing back up.
Check Vehicle Health/Status: Monitor fuel or charge levels to check if you can get to your destination on a road trip without needing to fill up, decode a warning light if it pops up, and see when service is needed.

Once a customer receives the AI assistant in their app, we want to continue to gather feedback directly from customers within the app to help us improve answers and quality to make the experience even better.

In-Vehicle Voice Assistance Upgrade: Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience

The app is just the beginning. The true magic happens when this intelligent thread extends from your pocket into your dashboard. By 2027, the Ford and Lincoln AI assistant will be integrated into select Ford and Lincoln vehicles. This won't just be mirroring your phone screen; it will be deep, thoughtful intelligence embedded directly into the driving experience.

In the meantime, we are introducing further voice upgrades to our in-vehicle experience. We are upgrading voice assistance capability in vehicles with the latest digital system, the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience, with the rollout of Google Gemini as an opt-in alternative to Google Assistant, for an even more natural conversation to help with tasks in the vehicle.2

Today, if you are an owner with the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience, you can think about Gemini in the vehicle and the Ford AI assistant in the app as companion technologies. For example, you can use Gemini to help with tasks in the vehicle to easily get where you need to go, send a text, change the cabin temperature, or play your favorite playlist, whereas the Ford AI assistant in the app can help you with vehicle-specific questions.

In the future for our embedded Ford and Lincoln AI assistant, we are going to use this same foundation for in-vehicle voice assistance and layer in Ford data and services to build a custom experience for your vehicle.

Ownership Experience: Work and Play

Your ownership experience should be as effortless as possible, whether you use your Ford vehicle for work or play. We are moving beyond the status quo of generic, fragmented tech to create a future where your vehicle is as smart, responsive, and personalized as the rest of your life.

We can’t wait for you to try our new AI products.

I'd be nice to go one work day without hearing or seeing something about AI. So, here is Google AI's response to the Ford AI App, lol.
