I never had a problem with a screen. Since they're all in my house. Must be because I never had a screen in a car. I actually like the way the Saleen covers look . As for what looks better, the S550 does.
If you owned an S550, you had a screen. 😉

To the OP - if you live some place sunny. This is mandatory for keeping your car cooler and saving your interior.

It's not in the same place. Just purchase two S550s for family members, so I know how they look.
Thanks captian obvious. 🤦‍♂️😂

I assume the OP is talking about heat due to parking his car and leaving it. In which case, it doesn't matter where the screen is. Maybe the OP can clarify if he was driving when this happened, or if it was parked.

The car was parked in direct sun for 3 1/2 hours. I then several days later was parked for several hours in 98 degree temps but under shade and no problems.

Ok, that's what I thought.

Did you have a sun shade...?

For whats worth I park my car in 100 degree weather all the time at work.

as another Arizona resident, i can confirm that i have had no issues with my screens refusing to work due to heat. even when its over 110 degrees outside, when the average vehicle will be ~160 inside after 90 minutes, i have had no issues. a sun shade will definitely help, but it strikes me as odd why you are even having these issues in the first place. if it happens again, it might be worth having your dealer take a look, but as far as i know, there are no fans on the APIM or IPC or either screen. also, you can adjust the climate with the voice control, not just the screen buttons. things like "set temperature to low" and "set fan speed to seven" or "turn on max A/C" should work
