Anyone else have issues with the infotainment screen after sitting in the high heat and sun of Florida or anywhere else. My touch screen would not work after only 3 hours in the heat. Car started fine and ran fine just couldn't adjust anything including the A/C (this is why it should be separate controls not the computer screen). It did start working again after getting cooler in the car and pushing the reset control.

I’ve never seen this, and I’m in Texas. I bought my car near Waco, and it was 106 ambient when I bought the car - it worked fine then. it’s been in 3 digit heat several times and never exhibited this. Now, that said, heat can definitely wreak havoc on electronics, so can it happen? Yes, but I don’t know the temp at which it becomes a problem. If it was 95 ambient, not the made up “heat index” number that cooler state weather people use to make their audience feel tougher and more heat tolerant than they actually are, then internal temps were probably 120-130 or more.

The days of me opening a car/truck door to oven like temperatures are over. If it sits more than 15 minutes in triple digit heat, it’s getting remote started. I’d say try this again and record a video of your start up to see if it repeats, take it to local stealership service if so.

You sure it's because of the sun?
I've heard more people complain about stuck screens, even in colder temps.
It fixed itself after a while, after a restart or after a reset. But yeah, these screens can get hot, especially in hot weather. I remember there was an update to fix the screens.

I live in Florida. My car is parked outside when I'm at work, usually with a sunshade on the windshield. I have never noticed any issues with the screens not working due to heat.

Thx guys it was the first time it has done it to me although my car is garaged and not subject to the sun and heat all the time. I think I will try the sunshade thing first and see if it still does it. I will say everything was so hot in the car that it was hard to touch anything including the titanium Shift knob. The top of the screen was so hot I think you could have burn yourself,LOL. I guess that's what I get for getting a black car in Florida.

Next time try resetting it, to do that hold volume down and right on the steering wheel

It may have been overkill, but I got my windshield clear tinted to (in theory) cut down on the heat. I don't know if it makes much difference so far as the head unit overheating, but mine never has totally blanked in the manner described.
But, two or three times a month I do have to reboot the system in order to get access to the HVAC controls as the system is suddenly unresponsive and that is sometimes right after starting the car in the garage when it was not that hot. Sometimes when driving just at random. It was worse for the first few days I had the car but I guess a bunch of OTA updates helped some.
It makes me wonder why Ford included a physical control for defrost on the lower panel - maybe as a safety CYA - did they always anticipate the system locking up?
I have another car with physical HVAC controls and a physical radio volume knob and every time I drive it I wish my Mustang had them as well (the HVAC I mean).
You do get somewhat used to the screen controls in time, but just as a physical radio volume knob is better, so are manual knobs or buttons on HVAC controls. IMO.
Also, I believe I read that the EU has mandated a return to manual controls at some future date. That will be a relief to drivers there.

Saleen has a cover which surrounds top and sides of the infotainment and helps guard them from the blazing hot sun 🌞. Maybe they're available. If not they'd definitely make a mint off of them.

Saleen cover. Available in with just about any color stitching your heart desires. Mustangs should come with these. They're a no brainer.

I wonder if that will hold the heat and not allow for the electronics to cool. I would be wary if something went wrong if the warranty would be voided. I checked it out its over $1000 I think I would ask the dealership before buying it at that cost but it is a great idea if it doesn't harm the infotainment center.

One penny under one thousand dollars at Saleen. Seems an addiction of little fans, like they use for car amplifier boxes, would be a great idea. The dash does get extremely hot. Which makes me wonder how long the S650s will hold up. I left my phone in the sun once and the thing went blank. It worked on e it cooled off. Maybe a little A/C piped into the cover would help keep them cool at least while driving.
