I have a 2024 Mustang Dark Horse after a wash my Vinyl stripes were hard water spotted on one side. Has anyone experienced that issue?

Hi and thank you for all of the good information, I see all sorts of prevents, it crazy the car has 1600 miles and first time I washed it.

So If I am reading this correctly you can buy a new car from the dealer with Matte stripes and you cannot wash it with unfiltered water. A surprise I did not see coming. The car has a dealer installed ceramic coating and I found out it does not cover vinyl. That is ok too but on the first wash?

From a long line of Mustangs I never saw this one.

Truthfully I am quite surprised at how many owners knew this problem to begin with and
to the extremes they went to prevent damage. I should have used dry wash I guess.

So-My question stands how to fix it. New Stripes?

Thanks everyone!

You can absolutely wash your car with unfiltered water. Its all about your drying process. Matte decals are just more prone to spots. 👍🏻

I've had spotting happen on my cars stripes I noticed last week when I rinsed it with untreated tank rain water and just let it air dry.

HI Just a quick update
I took the car to Ford and asked if It could be covered under the warranty as it is still under the factory warranty and they are going to replace the stripes. Awesome Tropical Ford service again to the rescue.

I will take the advice of all replies to keep this from happening again. thank you guys for the replies.

Wait. Your water spots were bad enough to warrant replacement? 😲

Did you try the vinyl wrap cleaner first? My Mach 1 stripe was that bad and cleaned up great after using thr right product.
