In the 2 videos I posted, it is headers, stock resonator stock catback.

the OEM and aftermarket headers have the 2 1/4 neck downs. The OEM resonator and 2-1/4 neck downs were cut out and the jones maxflow dual 3” was welded in where the OEM resonator was
So you installed headers without cats, and then three inch pipes from the collectors to a Jones maxflow dual 3" muffler serving as a resonator

your OEM exhaust after the cats goes to dual 2-1/4” pipes into the resonator, then back to 2-1/2 factory active exhaust pipe
Then you have 2.5" pipes from the Jones maxflow dual 3" muffler to the factory 2.5" system and left the rest behind that alone.

Is that all correct?

What kind of quarter mile time did you get form headers and slight exhaust modifications, naturally aspirated?

Yes, car picked up 3 MPH/tenths with just headers, I didn’t replace the resonator until I was boosted.
I went from 12.0/1s to 11.7/8s
that was stock tune/before tuning

If I were to install Kooks 1&7/8" long tube headers on my car, will it sound terrible?

I actually like the sound of my Dark Horse right now.

I read dismissive comments like, " Great way to add only 20 horsepower and make your car sound terrible at the same time."

Will they make my car sound terrible?

Will they make it appreciably louder? I do not really desire that, but a horsepower bump to be used during the long full throttle stretch at Michelin Road Atlanta from turn 7 to turn 10a (more of a long straight even though they claim there are "turns" 8 and 9 in that stretch) would be nice (from something like 45 mph to 140-145 mph with a stock Dark Horse, depending upon how deep you want to push your braking into that narrow 90 degree turn at the bottom of the hill - 10a).

I would appreciate reading comments from those who have installed these headers on an S550 or S650.
Me and my brother just did a set of these on our cars I have a Dark horse as yk and he has a 24 Gt. He has a Borla Atak Cat back on the car already and Mine was bone stock. I also really liked the sound of the stock exhaust but I wanted to power for the back straights at the tracks same as you and I did want some more sound. So far neither of the cars have really been revved out beyond 4-5k as we have only taken them out on the street once but we are both going to be at COTA this week so we will get the real sound test there. I did the catless Kooks as well as the corsa double H pipe resonator delete into factory active exhaust muffles and while yes it is way louder I found it still has the same kind of tone and sound as the factory exhaust and I am very very happy with it. My brothers car on the other hand has an X pipe and you can definitely notice it is much more raspy, Still sounds good but as you said I loved the way it sounded from factory so I am happy with my selection and would highly suggest that route.

I have a GT PP, started with replacing the resonator with an X pipe and it sounded great IMO.
Then added the supercharger, added Kooks LTH catless. Much louder and I didn't like the rasp. I then replaced the X with the H and it's about the same volume but deeper sound, slightly.
Start over and I'd left stock exhaust manifold and put on green cats. I may install green cats in the future.

With the catless headers, does the exhaust smell bad? How much of a difference from stock, if any.

It does stink from anywhere around the car at idle. Can’t smell it at all from inside the car with the windows up and i’ve had someone drive behind me and they couldn’t smell it when driving. How much of a difference from stock for what? Sound, Smell, Tone?

Smell.
I already have the h-pipe I just want to add headers and I have to decide on cats or not. I’ll be fine with the way it sounds just don’t want to smell the exhaust with windows down.

if you are sitting at a light with the windows down you should be fine you may smell it though depending on which was the wind is blowing. It is definitely very strong. What do you use the car for? if just street driving I think green cats is the only way to go tbh. My car is almost exclusively used as a “race” car for HPDE track events

It’s my hotrod. A fair weather car. Road trips, etc. I’m going to supercharge it by spring and read in several places that cats won’t live with a supercharger. True or not? IDK. Everybody’s got an opinion not necessarily based on data.
