I mean, that's beautiful. I like both the S550 and S650!
Thanks….don’t get me wrong….it was nice…I just didn’t like the 50th anniversary appearance package and the front end that came with that option but I wanted the performance pack for the Brembos and the 3.73’s and that’s all that was around…..trust me, if it was a true 50th I would have kept it for life being one of the 1964 that they made. What shocked me was that it was late in the season and they were trying to offload that 15 so they tinted it and threw in weather tech matts for free except the tint was limo dark…..WAY over legal and never once did I get a ticket 😀

the 550 was nice and I know the new 650 design is not for everyone but I actually love the rear and the over all shape of the car….feels like a generational jump to me in every way….the interior fit and finish is amazing compared to the 550’s…..I think Ford knocked this one out of the park and it’s truly one of the nicet cars/trucks they have made in the last 20 years IMHO.

My only complaints are:

1. Same cheap shift knob from 2015-today.
2. Track apps software takes a while to boot up so I can change my exhaust…probably a minute….with modern tech that is a little long…kind of the like Mac spinning beach ball…..hoping a software or flash update changes that in the future

I hear you.

I was close to buying a EcoBoost back in 2021 but decided to go for a more sensible alternative and picked up one of the last Fusions made as an ex-customer use car. It was the right car for me at the time. I would have enjoyed the S550, and four years later with four more years of experience on US roads, I'm almost certainly in a better place to drive the 2025 EcoBoost and not do something too stupid.

Did they ever make an ST Fusion?

In the UK? Yes they did. The earliest one I remember was a 170hp 2.0 model, naturally aspirated, then Ford moved to turbocharged engines. As I remember - and I'm a little vague on the precise details - there were a few different versions, and I believe some had the smooth Volvo five cylinder unit (if not the ST models, it was used in the RS model). I seem to recall there was also a turbodiesel ST model too, ST-TDCI or something similar.

The ebb and flow of European fast Fords has been fascinating over the years and most of it irrelevant to the US market. We Brits didn't get the Mustang - officially - until 2015 and the S550, but I'd been traveling between countries and seen the earlier Mustangs long before then.

I set the custom mode to the exhaust and other settings I prefer. Then set the favorites star to quiet mode. So I can have everything just the way I want it right away and without waiting for all the apps the boot up.

I have my custom for the rev match. Wife hates the track exhaust 😀

And I believe the 650 only makes 460 HP in Europe instead of 480 here (486with active exhaust )

The're a little less powerful in the UK, ~448hp, which I had wondered if this was because of noise regulations but it appears to be because of emissions regulations. The opposite has been true with diesel engines (this might change in the coming months) where US regulations were tighter than European and British ones. Curious.

But you know, now that I think of it, yeah naw it's got nothing to do with emissions regulations. It's because 480hp or more would move the UK mainland closer to France... lol...

Haha. Yeah my wife hated the tr ack exhaust at first but it’s grown on her. We both hat the track exhaust with the top up though it drones in track unless the top is down.

1) Look into getting a Billetworkz shift knob.

2) as other said, set your preferred settings to a custom profile, then it's just 2 clicks on the steering wheel.

Well played ….had a good chuckle

but after 10 years of some nice German cars. I really missed that 5 litre rumble. I am still shocked at the tech in my 25 vs my last one which was a 15 and ironically was the same colour but no stripes….and the performance pack back then had these black painted wheels that scratched if you breathed on them….didnt matter what you wiped them with chemical wise ….those old staggered black painted sets were a maintenance nightmare
Well, you are not the only one who has been surprised at the amount of technology. It borders on intimidation. However, some of that must be blamed on the software. When the 24's were first released, the software was glitchy. Settings you chose were not always remembered and caused some confusion as to how settings worked or if they were working. It is much better now, but you may notice personal choices may change back to defaults after OTA updates. One remedy is to push the 1 button on the driver profiles on the door. This may reset your preferences back to your choices! Enjoy your ride! Glenn
