Handling Pack spring rates vs. Steeda Minimum Drop MagneRide springs (555-8225)

Morning All,

Has anyone actually been able to find out what the spring rates are on the Dark Horse handling pack springs?

I've got a bit of a dilema I'm trying to solve.

Currently using Steeda Sport Progressives however, with the weight of the supercharger, the front sits a little low (4" from ground to splitter) driving around town

To solve this I'm thinking of doing the following
- Reduce the drop provided by lowering springs slightly
- Go back up to 20" wheels (20x10 and 20x11)
- Use 285/35R20 front and a 315/35R20 rear

To accomplish this I ordered a set of Steeda Minimum Drop Magnaride Springs (555-8225) however almost 3 months later they still haven't arrived.

So, rather than wait on this issue to be resolved I'm thinking "Hey, would the factory Handling Pack springs provide basically the same result"? I still have these springs from when I lowered the car the first time.

Anyone have any inside info on the handling pack springs and their rates? I can't see to find squat online so Ford may not publically release that info?

Do you like the current springs as far as ride etc.? How much do you need to raise it? Steeda makes a spacer kit that can get you back a 1/2".

The ride quality is not bad at all. In fact if it wasn't for the ground clearance issue I wouldn't really even be thinking of changing things out.

Steeda themselves told me...

We always recommend using a dual rate or linear spring on a supercharged Mustang as they do a much better job of maintain the desired ride height when compared with the 170lb Steeda Sport MagneRide Spring.

And the 'go-to' street spring on customers with a supercharged & MangeRide equipped S550 or S650 is the Steeda 555-8225 Mustang Magneride Minimum Drop Lowering Springs - Linear (15-26) which has a 200lb rate up front and an 800lb rate out back

So bringing it up a smidge and then adding 20s should take me from 4" to 5" ground clearance and (gets prepared for the "That's What She Said" jokes) as we all know, every inch counts!

Now, since it's been 2.5+ months and still no springs from the USA I need to start thinking of alternative solutions otherwise this could be a 2027 thing and we've still got at least half a season left of driving up here in Canada.
