Saw the GTD when I was at Barrett Jackson yesterday. Pretty cool but not really my thing. They won't ever be seen outside of press releases, car collections and auctions. $300k halo car for sure but it doesn't replace how great and special the actual Ford GT is. Was nice to sit in the Dark Horse and the 60 Years Edition although I'd pass on both of them. Will hold out for a different model coming down the pipeline.

@DarkMatterGrey did you register there to win the Mustang GT giveaway? Maybe you could win a duplicate of your car! lol

It's going to cost a lot more than that. I estimate $400K for a middle of the road car. I somewhat agree with the last part of your statement. It's a S650 GT500 with carbon body panels and steel doors, transaxle, same 16 gallon fuel tank (which is bad), active aero, and a new suspension. The car will be heavy, about 3800 pounds and have the same engine as the GT500 producing not much more HP than the 2020-22 GT500 predator.

Any cost or weight estimation is based on my estimates because Ford still has not released any specific information.

I did register to win the GT. I don’t think a duplicate is possible. No more Dark Matter Grey and no more start/stop delete.

I also registered to win the Shelby under wraps that they’re going to unveil at Barrett Jackson.

For that kind of money, I’d rather have one of the numerous Shelby GT350’s or preferably Boss 429’s. We saw at least 5 of the latter, which given they only made 1500 or so over the 2 year run, was a pleasant surprise.

It was Mustang heaven.

Let's be honest, if you had that kind of money you would already have these. :giggle: :like:

Note, according to Shelby rep I talked to, the one under wrap is an unveiling and contest giveaway.
Here’s the announcement about the car under wrap.

$110,000 šŸ™ƒ , just get a dark horse and a whipple. still have a ton of money left for any of the suspension upgrades needed. But people will eat this up im sure
To some, the Shelby pedigree is very important. Maybe it’s just an Internet forum thing but I really do not understand the need to denigrate a car that most folks do not understand nor afford.

It’s all a money grab. $1500 for cat back exhaust, $500 for a CAI system. $800 for a steering wheel. Don’t get me started about hi-fi equipment or watches.

But, that said Carroll Shelby meant a aweful lot to many, many folks. Shelby American is their only direct link to the old man. If it’s a money grab, so be it. There are worse things to spend your money on.

Zero interest. There's nothing special about it. Coyote engine with a blower, some gingerbread, cheesy seat covers, and doesn't even come with a Tremec. That MT-82 is dogsh*t.
