Looks like the wait is almost over. You're gonna love it!
Probably not unfortunately. The dealer is attempting to now force me to pay sales tax that I am exempt from paying per FL state law. Long story short, FL AD military members who are stationed outside of FL purchasing outside of FL are exempt from FL taxes. Ive done this 4 times, I know what Im talking about. I asked them to give me 2 days to verify things with the state (because its a Friday afternoon I need until Monday). They then sent me a text saying "they couldnt guarantee the car doesnt get purchased." This was crazy to me. Mind you, this is all on the same day the car arrived (2 weeks early). Told them I waited 3 months, the car arrives well before they said and they expect me to move heaven and earth to get out the door on the last day of the month. Spoke with the GM on Saturday, we'll see on Monday.

Edit: They already have the car listed online as well.

That is frustrating/annoying. Hope they get it figured out on their end! Seems odd that they wouldn't work with you to figure out the state law and close the sale. Market isn't exactly hot right now.

I cant begin to explain to you the amount of false statements their finance manager made to me. Told me "every dealer who did that ate the taxes." He so full of it. One of those "dealers" happens to be Tesla. Not exactly the traditional dealer structure.

That said, if this does end up falling through, does anyone have any advice on who to submit complaints to? Tax issue aside, the "threat" of selling the car out from under me the day it arrived was what REALLY pissed me off and I would think big Ford at least would like to hear about it.

Well good news. Dealer figured it out and got everything where it was supposed to be. I have to be honest though, the level of dishonesty from one individual almost ruined the entire thing.

Told the finance manager I didnt appreciate the "soft threat" message that they might sell the car from under me. He told me it was likely the internet manager or some offsite customer service rep. I spoke to my salesman outside after taking the keys and told him the same thing and he said "They made me send that message." This is the type of slimy tactics that make me wish dealerships would die off. One other thing I noticed when signing paperwork was the cost of these "extended warranties". Whatever third party this dealer uses, the prices were INSANE. The "premium package" was over $16,000 to add on. I nearly fell out of the chair.

All said and done this really was a wild experience from start to finish. But Im glad to finally have keys in hand. Cheers!

Glad you got your car, but that dealer would not have a return customer. Sure glad I didn’t have to deal with that kind of crap! ENJOY YOUR CAR!!

Congrats on the new car! Dealerships generally have a bad reputation for a reason... It's kind of sad really.

As for extended warranty. I don't think anyone actually pays that price. They list it that way and then offer it at 50% (or more) discount to make people feel like they are getting a good deal. Sadly, it works on a few suckers. Finance room for the final paperwork is always just awful.

Completely agree. And my reviews will reflect that I won't be returning. I hate it because it's so simple for me: don't lie or try to BS me.
