Hello all,

Former '14 GT owner. Finally getting back into the Mustang game. Long story short, had to get rid of the old stang in 2018 when kid #2 arrived (never heard that story before). Was looking at F-150s a few months ago to replace my '18 F-150 and realized I should just add a 3rd vehicle instead lol. Just got my confirmation from Ford today that the order has been placed.

My buying experience: I looked everywhere NOT local. We have 3 dealers local and 1 of them is the "we add these things to all vehicles and even employees have to pay for them" schtick. I had way more trouble finding the exact build than I thought I would. I mostly used Visor.vin to narrow searches and it does a really good job of getting specs right. This forum also informed me of X-plan pricing. Got the MCA membership immediately. I am local to GA right now and nothing seemed to be available in state. I spent weeks talking to dealers especially in SC and MI and ultimately couldnt get them to provide a "reasonable" OTD #. Decided to message my closest local dealer and sure enough, the salesman made ordering the easiest process Ive ever had with Ford.

The numbers: OTD Im getting the car at about 9% under MSRP thanks to x-plan, stackable rebates, and a sales tax exemption. Based on Invoice pricing sheet 645, their number was within the $400 range I calculated and required 0 haggling. Almost as easy as Tesla.

I do have a couple questions for those more experienced with this process:

- What kind of OTD #s have yall seen on these relative to MSRP? Finding out about the x-plan made this much less painful than my previous experience.

- How soon have yall seen the VIN to track it?

- I am looking at possibly having the dealer install a Ford/Whipple Supercharger upon arrival. I understand the cost aspect of it, but what other considerations should I make when it comes to supercharging it?

- Any recommendations on a to-do list for when the car arrives and prior to finalizing paperwork?

Build:
- GT Premium - Black/Black - 6 Speed Manual
- 401A
- B&O 12-speaker
- Anti-Theft
- GT Performance Package
- Nite Pony Package (I was torn on this cause I didnt know if its "too much", but ultimately went with it. Thanks dad!)
- Active Valve Exhuast
- Grey Stripe
- Magneride Damping System

Excited to be back in the game and happy to answer any questions from my own experience. Build sheet and Ford generated photo attached for reference.

Very nice car and sounds like a good deal.

Since your order just went in, the earliest you might get scheduled would be in May, for builds in July. If you make the scheduling in May that is when you will get your VIN and your projected build week (in July).

OP that’s a sweet build you’ve put together. Tons of options added but seeing a Mustang hit almost $70k MSRP is a bit shocking. I think most GTs usually land closer to $55k, but they definitely don't have the bells and whistles your build sheet has.

If you’re comfortable with that price tag, I say go for what makes you happy. Have you considered other options like a low mileage used model or even a Dark Horse? There should be tons of choices for you in that price range.

Agreed. Price tag is definitely an eye opener but pretty much on par with where the used market is that ive seen. Ive had no luck finding one like this on the used market. I found a 2024 close to this at like 50k but as luck would have it, they had a deposit on it a few hours before I inquired. Wasnt really interested in spending essentially the same on a used DH. This way I get a car that I know how its been treated. I feel it for people who dont benefit from rebates or tax/fee exemptions. This car would easily be north of 70k otherwise.

Comparing your build sheet and pricing to my very similar 2024 gives some interesting insight to Ford's pricing strategies:
You had to add $1160 for the B&O sound system, $700 for the anti-theft along with the $2900 401A option to equal exactly what my $2900 401A option included! Plus, your base at $51,080 is up almost 8% versus my $47,380 base. Add in the two items deleted from 401A and you end up at almost 12% increase. I think there are a few more little "deletes" between these two model years as well.
But regardless, the S650 GT remains a super hi-po car, especially (IMHO) when you get the MT! I bet you will love the car when it shows up! Nice work getting to the exact build you wanted. I did the same and have been very pleased with the result. Always look forward to getting in and rowing the gears, listening to that engine sound!

I placed an order for a GT Premium in late February and, after prodding my dealer a bit, got a VIN about a week ago with production to begin June 15. I originally ordered Grabber Blue but was told several weeks ago that that color was no longer an option, so I went with Race Red. I read somewhere that non-grayscale cars take longer to build because there are fewer of them and they are grouped together for production. Not sure if this is really true. My build is pretty simple: 6-Speed, PP, MR and AVE and that's all. Newby here, BTW, and its nice reading all the knowledge on this forum.

depending on time of month and how motivated the dealer is to move units you should be able to get 10-15% off of MSRP. And what is a sales tax exemption and how does one qualify for it?

I went to my local dealer the other day, they had a really sharp 26 gt premium with pp, active exhaust , some nice 20in wheels etc its msrp was literally 10k more than I got my 25 DH base with recaros for, I couldnt believe it.

In my case its a Florida exemption for AD military. Specific to purchases made out of the state. I think there are other exemptions for disabled vets, people who work for certain non-profits, or other govt orgs as well depending on states. Its one of those unadvertised benefits.

Sorry dont mean to keep blowing this thread up but just like that 1 day later got the build week. I knew I should have started complaining earlier.
