It's hard to say. As someone who loves supercars, and loves the mustang and other muscle cars, the idea of a "super muscle car" is really badass to me. I mean, this isn't just a mustang with a supercharged V8 job done. It's a mustang with a supercharged V8, a rear mounted dual clutch transmission, a full carbon fiber wide body, insane active areo, crazy brakes and tires, F1 inspired suspension, and recycled parts from an f22 fighter jet amongst other things. In a world where a gt500 is pushing 100k, there's no way a car like the GTD wasn't gonna be expensive as hell.Wow, I just checked the price of that car, are you kidding? Look I like mustangs as much as the next guy but if you got that kind of cheddar your a moron spending it on a mustang.
It's without a doubt the most balls to the wall front engine American production car we've ever seen. Not to mention with a sub 7 min time at the 'ring, that means this thing is going around a track faster than a McLaren p1, a multi million dollar mid-engine exotic. Every car at its performance level is at least in the 6 figures, and there's a good chance we'll never see another car exactly like it. So with all that in mind, I understand why it's a 6 figure car. Hell, the Dodge demon 170 is a 6 figure car, and that's just a demon meant to go in a straight line. It's fine, but it's like 5 rungs below the GTD in cool factor.
I get the price is insane, but it's an insane car. It's not very often that we get a gt3 race car for the road with even more to fast tech and bits added to it. On the used car market, I predict the GTD values will go nuts, then kinda level off, maybe even depreciate a bit. But in 20-30 years, the GTD feels like one of those cars that's gonna be fetching serious numbers at auctions. Last of it's kind, the greatest ICE muscle car to ever exist, and something that's basically the last of it's kind.
