He's got an Ecoboost. He doesn't have to worry about it being loud and waking someone up. Im not sure why you would own a mustang the you're worried about how loud they can get.
Yeah I totally agree.

The sound of these cars is a huge part of their appeal to me and I make no bones about it. If they were exactly the same but sounded like a ā€˜70s Coupe de Ville I’d probably have no interest. Ford is well aware of this; otherwise why do they offer the AVE?

I suspect it depends on where you live. Here in Roswell, NM loud exhaust citations are few and far between, until some one complains. If it does result in a citation, the first is a mere $50. Second, the same. Third? $250!

Here in the great state of GA I’d have to guess a lot is left up to officer’s discretion. On two recent occasions I’ve had LEOs fall in directly behind me and I never took it out of track mode. I behaved and never even got a look. But I’m 75, clean cut, hat not on sideways and my car looks nice. I don’t hoss it around in town.

As an aside I rode straight pipe Harleys for almost 60 years and never once got stopped for noise. On one occasion I actually helped a motor officer punch the baffles out of the mufflers on his cop bike.

I keep my Stang in quiet mode when close to my house. Two blocks away is whatever mood I am in, as far as my exhaust goes.

Uakawease,
Great advice, from Farmer Fran and others. I've had my Stang since July and I do occasionally get on it but you must respect it. One thing that was barely discussed, is road debris. I'm not talking about road kill and tire pieces but something much smaller and almost imperceptible. Which, may be a problem, in AZ. Blown dirt and sand. I have found that at intersections and especially if you are turning at the intersection, be aware of the sand and tiny pieces of gravel. They can cause you to easily spin out and lose traction. It has happened to me twice and when you are not expecting it, it can really make you pay attention. The first time I was going straight and the tires basically chirped a bit. The second time I was making a right turn, going to my Ford dealer and the rear end started to come around on me, which wasn't bad, but when the rear tires stopped spinning and gripped again, it bordered on violence. I actually thought someone coming from the left, had hit me. Just be careful and as everyone says it will put a smile on your face, as well as others around you. Glenn p.s. I'll be 78 in June. You're just a youngster! 🤟
You need to keep traction control on

That kills all the fun! I'm only kidding. I always leave it on because my reaction time isn't nearly as fast as the traction control. However, that doesn't mean you can't get a surprise using traction control. Actually, I guess it can dumb it down a bit because you always expect it to work, until it doesn't. šŸ˜

Same here since I do Shift work at a Chemical Plant, I’m either leaving at 4:00am heading in or 5:00am coming back home I put the car in Quiet mode before entering the Subdivision as to not disturb the sleeping neighbors. Respect given.

Can’t say that the Import Ricer a street behind me cares one bit tho!! šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

I am sure he doesn't! None of the Ricers around me care about making noise. To me, they sound like lawnmowers. I don't care if they are faster than my Stang. It makes me smile when they are so full of themselves, and I don't give a damn. It doesn't matter what they do to their Ricers; it will never sound like a normally aspirated Stang. Glenn
