Track mode (For the 6-speed) is completely different feel in the throttle compared to Sport Mode. Track mode seems like you have to work the gas pedal more comparted to Sport.

Excellent response!!! I apprecriate it!Fair enough but safe to say that you’re more responsible at 54 vs 24 so you have to take that into account as well but make no mistake, this thing can SCOOT!! I’m 56 and show my GT much respect. I know now how hard to push and how long to push. I too, choose Sport Mode with Track exhaust and don’t care much for Drag/Track Modes. Those seem to be more stretched out and much more accelerator pushing but exhilarating nonetheless. You’ll find your ideal mode and when you do, make it a Custom Mode and you’ll always be Smiling with each pedal push!!
I don't plan too...but I have plenty of open road out here in Arizona to have have some fun. I'm 54 and have driven some beasts...I am not ready to get on it hard just yet. Just looking for some advice. I appreciate it.Best Answer...
Do not drive like a loony on the street
Fair enough, also 54, also driven some decently wicked cars.I don't plan too...but I have plenty of open road out here in Arizona to have have some fun. I'm 54 and have driven some beasts...I am not ready to get on it hard just yet. Just looking for some advice. I appreciate it.
I respect the officers...even Sheriff Sloup. I miss Arpaio though!Arizona? Watch out for Frank, he is not fond of speeders![]()

Uakawease,
Great advice, from Farmer Fran and others. I've had my Stang since July and I do occasionally get on it but you must respect it. One thing that was barely discussed, is road debris. I'm not talking about road kill and tire pieces but something much smaller and almost imperceptible. Which, may be a problem, in AZ. Blown dirt and sand. I have found that at intersections and especially if you are turning at the intersection, be aware of the sand and tiny pieces of gravel. They can cause you to easily spin out and lose traction. It has happened to me twice and when you are not expecting it, it can really make you pay attention. The first time I was going straight and the tires basically chirped a bit. The second time I was making a right turn, going to my Ford dealer and the rear end started to come around on me, which wasn't bad, but when the rear tires stopped spinning and gripped again, it bordered on violence. I actually thought someone coming from the left, had hit me. Just be careful and as everyone says it will put a smile on your face, as well as others around you. Glenn p.s. I'll be 78 in June. You're just a youngster!![]()
I am old school from the Mopar Nationals as a teen...I know all about the bleach lol! It's impressive. I wish I had a smart phone back in 1986 when my friend had a 1971 Dodge Charger that we poured some bleach solution in the parking lot of the gas station I worked at and it took 20 minutes for the cloud to disipate. AWESOME!Find an open parking lot; go to track mode and line lock, then have some fun. A soapy bleach solution should allow for some cool pictures;). Enjoy!
Ack. And here I am trying to decide whether to run those tires year-round in Georgia... and the average temps are a bit cooler here and we get more rainy days than you do in Vegas (my old stomping grounds!). I won't say I've never floored at high speeds (gotta pass on two lane roads somehow), but if I do decide to keep the Pirellis on, I'll definitely be ultra careful in low temps. Glad you lived over that one!I'm in Las Vegas Nevada and the temps get into the 30s on occasion. I've had several scary experiences when the temperature was in the high 40s to mid-50s. I went to pass on the expressway and floored it at about 50-55, the rear end swung around and the car went into a violent fishtail for three oscillations.
