I would likely assume that when we pick up our new S650 GT that's it filled with 87 octane from the dealership correct? I would be surprised if they filled it with 91 or 93.
My salesman, per my request, filled her up with 93. Only drink she's ever had except for whatever is put in the tank at FRAP.

Surprisingly, my salesman said he put in 93, assuming that's what it called for....being a mustang and all....

I wonder if the UK dealers will do the same thing no mention of it in the contracts, hopefully they'll water down that FRAP fuel with some 99 octane. I guess it'll be almost empty on the boat if they had any sense

Yes, they will ship almost empty. There will be enough for transfers at the different waypoints, ultimately the dealer and a close-by pump, but not much else.

The cars shipping by rail or truck in the US probably don't have much more in them.

I only use Shell V-Power premium. I know it can take less than that, but hey, why skimp on a $60K car. My husband does the same with his BMW 4-series. No complaints here.

Y'all have 99 octane pump gas? Is that calculated use the R+M method, or only RON?

Only RON, 95 is our standard (89-91 your scale) 97 is generic premium (91-93 your scale) and our branded premium (shell, esso etc) is 99 (93-95 usa scale) although it can be a bit fluid.
Esso used to be 97 but went up to 99 when they put ethanol in. BP used to be 98. but has dropped to 97 for some reason.

Once upon a time BP used to do a 102 racing fuel as pump gas. Japan tends to have the highest octane pump gas, i once had a JDM subaru that i had to exclusively run on UK 99 as that was the regular quality fuel in it's native market
