And would still lose to every car in the class

And you would still get less MPG than any other turbo 4

Not really, just pointing out the fact that spending money on a car that shouldn’t exist in the first place is a poor idea. You could’ve instead A. Bought a better car. B. Spent money on a different car for better results
wild that there’s still stupid, hard-headed coyote owners like yourself out there. the s650 eco, STOCK, is faster than almost every other new car in its class and can be had in the low 30s. stop trying to justify ur money splurge on a GT mustang by shitting on eco’s, when u “could’ve had a BMW” that will gap u in an instant.

In an autocross course that starts out as a drag race with a long straight, yes. Unfortunately, thats rare in my area. Ecoboosts, stock for stock, are .5 or more faster. 200lbs less on the front end can't be sneezed at for cornering. I'm not referencing anything but v8 vs ecoboost mustangs. If you want to bring other makes (every car) into the mix then i thank you. Focus RS. Theres a couple that runs 2 different classes by 2 different drivers in the same car. They consistently take first place in both classes. They beat "every car" with their ecoboost.

EcoBoost is cheeks and I am willing to die on that hill sorry 😂 it’s much lighter and more agile in autocross (drove it during the Ford Performance driving school) but ya the 10 speed was absolutely clueless and killed my time (still was #1 in the class tho)
I will stop commenting but it is a fact that any turbo 4 BMW is a better car than the EcoBoost. And $ for $ in mods takes that argument further.
save your money OP!!
Happy Thanksgiving

love how u just end off on ANOTHER wrong thing 🤣 no new turbo 4 BMW is faster or cheaper than the new eco’s. mod for mod, the s650 ecoboost still wins cuz it can make 430 wheel easy for less than $2k!!

I had an ecoboost S550 and V6 S550, both cars were fun and in my opinion worth it whether it’s entry level or whatever the case may be. If I never got sent overseas I’d have kept my ecoboost, modded it and have it as my daily. I do love my 24 GT but I do miss my ecoboost it was nice and I liked hearing turbo noises lol

My tune is on its way, and I'm looking forward to it.

I was the first (so I was told by the Ford rep) to receive a tune for a 2019 Ranger. There were a lot of benefits not the least of which was a better driving experience. Almost gone was turbo lag, along with better throttle response, and 10R80 shifting patterns. Mileage didn't suffer any, save for using the (addicting) added power. Enlarging the turbo, adding bigger intercooler and pipes, exhaust and CAI, further increased everything especially the power. Yet, I still get about 7 mpg in town, and 23 on the highway.

I bought my car for $28K last summer. I can afford a car twice the price, but have to drive on some real crappy rural dirt roads to work. Never even drove my 1951 olds to work once that bad.....

Every car is peppy if not fast these days.

The guy ragging on the ecoboost is right, the 10 speed holds you back at a track. I do not have paddle shifters though. Drove a club runs a few times at limerock. You cant trust what gear its going to be in. I can imagine it would be even worse for the v8 guys with the 10 speed. I am looking around for a car to replace my olds cutlass. Might be something track worthy too. Went a day late to NJ to look at a SN95 302 setup for the poconos track, had a scca log book too. Could done vintage with it. Class 6 or 6M i think.

Back to the tune though.. I love my engine as is, but you can never say no to more hp. It seems the next gear makes more power than the last gear. Ford has problems with their 4th gear in the 10r80. Wondering if they removed or relaxed the torque control on 4th gear in the tune. I prefer sport mode over normal, everyone does. But, shifting seems a bit brutal on some gears. Firm shifts are good, too firm and you start beating up planets, reaction shells, and one way clutches. I really dont want to know whats inside a 10r80 anytime soon......
Ford service guy said he does not see problems with the mustangs though. Dont see 4th much, lighter car, no towing????

Only tune I would consider would be fords. $800 seems reasonable too. 23k on my car. I might bring it to the dealer before it snows here in NY. Technically its garaged for the winter. Debating a intercooler too. I run 93 mobil and the motor does hold back hp sometimes, ping detected? heat soak? I am nervous this motor does not come with an oil cooler too......

I put the ford tune in a 2.3 bronco and felt the difference. One thing about ford is the performance tune claim has to be accurate.

Ford performance tune changes the way the car shift. It feels much smoother and better with the tune

The change in shift behavior is definitely interesting. I don't have any real issues with the Mustang - it's better than the six-speed in my Fusion - right until I drive my wife's 2011 RAV4 with the V6 and five-speed smooth-as-silk transmission.

NOT the Ford Performance tune, but the Livernois tune for the last generation, S550, Ecoboost.
