My wife has a 2020 Lincoln Continental. Lately a door alarm has been randomly going off when she locks the car. A few days ago the LincolnWay app registered six separate alerts all at the same time stamp. Today there were eight alerts spread out over a 30 minute period.
When she came home today, I had her lock the car when it was in the garage and walk away with the fob. I then tried to open each door with no alert. I then hit each door handle with my hand. Still no alert. About ten minutes later, the car horn started beeping. Unlock the car and it stops.

I know virtually zip about the ODB II codes but I was wondering if the error messages are stored and in more detail. She has an appointment with the dealer on the 28th. I am hoping they can hook up their ODB II scanner and figure out what the issue is. I know it is NOT the battery. It is fully charged per my NOCO 5 amp maintainer.

When your alarm goes off, that's not a DTC (diagnostic trouble code), so there is nothing to store. If there's something else causing it, there may be some codes stored.

Get yourself an ODBII reader like the OBDLink MX+. Not only can you read and clear DTC codes, but you'll be able to use it with FORScan as support for the 2024 S650 grows ... :)

I was going to do that but FORScan says their software is not up to speed on 2024 MY Fords. I realize it will work on the Lincoln, but I have a 2024 Mustang. I'll wait and let the dealer earn their keep.

New generations always start that way, @DCS. My 2021 F150 was the first of the generation, and it took a while for most of the good stuff to get sorted out. Same will happen with the S650.

I actually bought my OBDLink adapter back in 2016. I used it (with FORScan and other applications) on my 2015 F150, my 2017 F350, and now my 2021 F150 and ... as things move along ... on the 2024 Mustang. I've also used it on my wife's Cadillac and my daughter's Malibu to pinpoint the problems and fix them. Used it with the F350 to actively monitor all kinds of PIDs related to the Powerstroke regeneration process.

Point taken.

Do you think there might be any record of these alerts showing up on LincolnWay (same as FordPass)?

It's OBD and it's designed around emissions related error codes. Most manufacturers use the same connector for other diagnostic purposes on the other pins in the connector usually using proprietary protocol / software.
You can get more detailed scanners like autel etc that will talk to more than just the emissions devices.
Will the DEALER be able to figure it out via ODB II records? THAT'S my real question. If not, then we start the guessing game of latches and sensors.

So they don't call it FordPass? LOL. It's the same app, so if you have it set up to send an alert when the alarm gets trigged, it should alert you - assuming this is supported for her 2020 Lincoln. I have it set up for my Ford vehicles in FordPass, but have only "accidentally" set them off a couple of times. Again, these are not DTCs.

Again, if the alarm is going off, that's not an error, per se. DTCs are stored (and retrieved) when bits aren't working correctly and are causing issues. Only way to know is to run an OBDII scanner on it. That's part of the reason I own one.

Sorry dcs, malibu (spoken like coach jim mora - playoffs lol) just got done replacing the frigging vacuum pump - heads up not fun when it decides to grenade.

- dcs i wish you luck, not sure a trouble code will be set for alarm. Is the alarm triggered by motion or entry?

I had to replace the hub bearing assemblies all the way around. "Service AdvanceTrac". The wheel sensors can't pick up the signal from the ring in the hub -- the ring that falls apart and is no longer a complete circle. #$%#@ I spent over 14 hours on that job!

I doubt there will be a DTC for that, as all that is happening the car thinks the door is being opened.

If I had to guess, I'd say that there might be a short or loose wire somewhere.

Meant obdii
I don't have a scanner. I'm hoping the dealer will have all the proprietary stuff to figure this out.

Great. 🤬 The dealer will muck around and do nothing.

Personally, I think it may be heat related. It's getting pretty warm here in Central Florida.
