I looked at both designs at steeda. One has a hex head you can't grab but grips cause the sidewalls look 90 degree . The other has a rounded head you can't grab at looks like it will spin.

A taller nut. Coupler nut seems to be the better mousetrap. If that exists in the proper specs. The one pictured is 3/8 thread. 1" tall

I have had the clamps on my exhaust for two years now. I loosened to adjust the exhaust position just a couple months ago. They loosened and tightened with no problems. The “rounded” heads are held in place because they ride in a curved channel and the bottom of the heads are curved so they sit in the channel and do not turn. I use an torque wrench on mine and have never had a problem with leaks nor with the bolt heads spinning while loosening or tightening. Sorry to hear the OP had issues; I know how frustrating that can be.

Good info. I just look at it and the design doesn't look good. I think the extended nut would be usefull. Having that mechanical attachment point...

I know working on exhaust some of the spaces are very tight, so it makes it easier to work with when things are a compact as possible. I’ve never considered the clamps to be poorly designed because they’ve never given me any trouble. After doing suspension work, nothing seems more simple than loosing or tightening these exhaust clamps. 😂

A message from our VP of Operations:
First & foremost - any & all situations a customer has should be channeled through our customer service department at 1-800 950 0774 or by contacting your sales professional in order to process a claim correctly.

Steeda truly wants to make this situation right. From our review, it looks like there may have been some confusion along the way. We noticed earlier posts asking about a Venmo reimbursement and another about disputing the charge, and now the focus seems to be on the part’s performance. Regardless, our priority is resolving the issue to your satisfaction.

Unfortunately, it still appears that we were not contacted directly regarding the forum post. Had we been, we’re confident this could have been addressed quickly and privately. Since learning of the issue, several members of our Steeda team have been reviewing order records and phone logs to locate your contact information so we can reach out directly. We’ve also tried to send a private message, but it seems your profile settings prevent that.

To ensure we address the concern thoroughly, we pulled the clamps from our shelves and began testing. Our initial tests with standard (single-wall) clamps showed failure at approximately 70 ft-lbs. We expect our upgraded clamps to arrive later this week and plan to test and share those results as well.

At Steeda, our goal is to deliver the highest quality parts and the best customer experience possible. That’s only possible when we have the opportunity to work directly with our customers to resolve issues. We’re still very willing to make this right and would appreciate it if you could reach out to us directly so we can move forward together.
"this could have been addressed quickly and privately"

Well sure privately would have been your choice and then the issue would never have been resolved - I may have gotten a refund but the product which you now state after testing is defective would have continued to be sold, which is EXACTLY why these posts were made. The Venmo reimbursement post was sarcasm to another member - unless you don't have the ability to comprehend I'm pretty sure you should be able to draw that conclusion...!!! 🤪

Your passive/aggressive tone is noted.

One of your employees wrote this: I'm sure now that you have tested the clamps and found them to be defective you should have a chat with him 🙄 👇

"The standard clamps work just fine - we offered the upgraded clamps for peace of mind, been running the standard clamps on my Mustang for 5+ years without issue. You are in good hands with Steeda.

Best,

TJ"

I hope you are being sincere in that the product was pulled and won't be sold and that you are changing the design. Also, admitting the clamps were defective is certainly a step in the right direction to redeeming your reputation in this regard, so Bravo to you.

People respect admitting failure - far more than defensive posture.

Standard clamps or the upgraded clamps that are the topic of this thread?

And 25Raptor can't be bothered to send a simple PM?

I wasn't interested in contacting them -didn't want to deal with -- word salad talk, defense, stonewalling, and BS. You can find all that in this thread in their rhetorical posts.

"several members of our Steeda team have been reviewing order records and phone logs to locate your contact information" - and if you believe that I got a bridge to sell you...😆

Was looking for results and "it appears" that may have happened.

Wheeeeeeeeeew, so many Steeda FanBoys

Nice try at a petty insult to be dismissive of my comment, but I have never purchased anything from Steeda in my life.

This does not mean I have negative feelings toward them, or positive. I don't really know anything about them.

I was just commenting on the lack of basic communication skills. This seems like such an obvious and easy choice to move things forward.

What a train wreck this thread is. All over some shitty bolts on a exhaust clamp.

I guess I live in a different world. One with real problems to deal with. Must be nice to have this much energy to argue over something so silly for days on end.

We get it already. Everyone's points are being repeated again and again. Everyone learned a bit about the bolts on the clamps , take it for what it is at this point.

I second the "let's shut this thread down".

I deal with customers that rant on forums, and never contact the seller to make an attempt to resolve the issue, first.

I'll make it a point to buy something from Steeda soon.

Hey, I'm no Steeda fanboy. How long did you hit the clamps with the rattle gun?

You complain about how badly Steeda handled the situation yet refuse to work with them when they offer any kind of amends.

Take a look in the mirror dude.
