Enclosure Fiber Fill

I looked into the pluses about adding fiber fill. Looks like a great concept on paper...is if a proven fact regarding the increase of interior space in a sealed enclosure. Opinions on this subject??

Yes it is but the difference may not be huge in sound quality, especially in a car environment. I filled my sub - cheap and easy.

I bought fiber fill but didn’t put it in. I probably should have. It is supposed to increase db a little. You can go down the Youtube rabbit hole and watch 5 hours of videos on it like I did….lol.

It will not increase the sound level, just cleans up the sound a little by imitating a larger enclosure.

I wouldn't waste 5 hours of your life either way!

I used 22oz of fiber fill in the Mustang sub enclosure. Pioneer sub gets installed tomorrow when it arrives from the suppler.

Few new hole locations, some insulation between the sub and surface to ensure a seal, and done!

Cool! Gotta have something to keep stuff from sliding into it….lol.

The rubber cargo mat is a good addition too. It really does keep stuff from sliding around.

BTW: You gave your stereo a listen yet? Opinion?

It was an improvement from the OEM paper crap speaker (sic) and worth the small $ it cost to do so. My music preferences change with my mood. I listen to everything from Handel to Earl Klugh to Tommy Richman. For an old guy, I need to start taking my meds again...then again maybe not.

Centering this grill is a bit tricky...do you have the dimensions of the grill bottom screw from the base (both sides)?

I just eyeballed it. I can go out later and measure If you need. I just reminded myself it’s just a trunk and not to worry too much…lol. It was a lot easier to put the grill on while the enclosure was out of the car.

I noticed from my music catalog playing Bluetooth off my phone, the quality varies wildly. Bands like Gorillaz sound incredibly clear with a ton of bass, while some of my heavier metal bands sound muddier than when I played them on CD in my 06 GT. (I am 61 and listen to most everything. I enjoy Yacht Rock as much as Black Sabbath and Zeppelin….lol.)
