A woman that I used to work with bought her husband a Mustang as a surprise gift. Seems that he always wanted one.

Unfortunately, he wanted a GT, not an EB. And she got the color wrong. And probably the transmission.

Yeah, she's divorced now.

Even if we had enough money that we could buy each other automobiles as surprise gifts, there's no way either of us would do that. We're both way too picky about cars to be satisfied with one that someone else picked out for us.

That's what I did when my picked out her Mustang. She picked out the exterior color, interior color, wheels, and options. I went through the list of options with her in case she didn't know what they were. Needless to say, she is still very happy with her car.

When I was working in Israel; one of my Team Mates went on leave back in Ireland. While there "Bob" decided to surprise his wife for her BDay with a new ride. Don't remember exactly what brand or model it was, but it was a new; very square, utilitarian box on wheel with horrid frog eyed headlights and painted an ugly shade of gray.

Mrs. Bob's reaction (according to Bob) upon being surprised with the bow wearing new wheels?

(Paraphrasing Bob's report to me) OMG! That is the ugliest PO ever! I am not driving that hideous thing ANYWHERE! Bob was unsuccessful in persuading her to accept or drive the car.
A seriously chagrined and lighter Bob (due to missing a good chunk of his ***) and Mrs. Bob took The Box back to the dealer. Where Mrs. bob picked out a bright red sportier model!

My wife knows I want an 812 Competizione in Rosso Corse, and a Audi RS3 Competition Limited for a DD and driving through rough areas..
